Abstract: A data retention event preparation/recovery system includes a chassis, a plurality of NAND subsystems included in the chassis, and a data retention event preparation/recovery subsystem that is included in the chassis and coupled to the plurality of NAND subsystems. The data retention event preparation/recovery subsystem determines that the plurality of NAND subsystems will experience a data retention event and, in response, identifies a first subset of the plurality of NAND subsystems that exceed an error threshold, identifies at least one overprovisioned block in the plurality of NAND subsystem, copies data that is stored on the first subset of the plurality of NAND subsystems to the at least one overprovisioned block in the plurality of NAND subsystems, and power offs the plurality of NAND subsystems to begin the data retention event.

  • Publication number: 20240303702
Abstract: An embodiment for a method of cost-aware tiering for data storage. The embodiment may detect data to be stored in one or more storage systems and gathering access and usage information. The embodiment may maintain a first data structure including periods of activity below a defined threshold for the detected data, and a common data structure to identify and track application-wide data patterns. The embodiment may gather static pricing information and context pricing information for the one or more storage systems and calculate a tiering threshold corresponding to a continuous period of activity below a second defined threshold required for which local storage costs exceed a tiering cost. The embodiment may calculate for inactive data segments, probabilities of the inactive data segments remaining inactive for a duration that exceeds the calculated tiering threshold. The embodiment may calculate a risk score and generate a tiering list for storing the data.

  • Publication number: 20240299624
Abstract: Tissue processing techniques are described involving association of tissue with a form under pressure to more precisely adapt the crosslinked tissue to the form. Pressure can be applied through holding of the issue on a porous form with suction on the form maintain tight adherence of the tissue on the form. In some embodiments, the tissue on the form is placed with the crosslinking solution in a bag that is then vacuum sealed to have the evacuated bag hold the tissue on the form. Whether or not the tissue is crosslinked on a form, glutaraldehyde can be used for crosslinking in a substantially unpolymerized state to achieve distinct crosslinked tissue properties.
