  • Patent number: 7140492
Abstract: A combination includes a dispenser package having a sheet of material with an opening for dispensing at least one item therefrom and a cap assembly attached to the sheet of material and surrounding the opening, the cap assembly including a flange. The combination also includes a holder including a front wall having an interior face, an exterior face and an aperture extending between the interior and exterior faces. The dispenser package is insertable into the holder so that a portion of the cap assembly passes through the aperture of the front wall with the sheet of material opposing the interior face of the holder and the flange opposing the exterior face of the holder, wherein the flange includes a portion that extends beyond the aperture of the front wall for preventing the flange from passing through the aperture when the dispenser package is inserted into the holder.

  • Publication number: 20040099681
Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing individual interleaved and/or releasably attached articles such as sheets impregnated with moisture or a composition or substance useful for treating, cleaning and/or disinfecting various surfaces, including the human skin. The dispenser includes a dispensing element including at least one larger aperture and a smaller aperture in a non-planar relationship to one another. A closure or lid can usefully be incorporated as part of the dispenser. The articles may easily be reached from above the top surface of the dispenser through the larger aperture, and fed through from underneath the top surface and through the opening of the small aperture. Thereafter, the articles may be dispensed through the small aperture, e.g., in a pop-up mode. The arrangement of the elements is conducive to one-handed dispensing of articles from the dispenser.

  • Publication number: 20040094004
Abstract: The present invention relates to pre-moistened towelettes, often referred to as wet wipes. The wet wipes of the present invention include at least one substantially continuously embossed portion, typically along two opposing edges. Such substantially continuous embossing is sufficient to permit tactile and visual recognition of the edge to enable a user to quickly and efficiently isolate and secure the wipe, especially when in a folded configuration or placed atop a subsequent wipe in a stacked configuration. The substantially continuous embossing also reduces the peel force required to remove one wet wipe from atop another. Remaining portions of the wipe may also be discontinuously embossed. The invention also includes methods of manufacturing such wipes.

  • Patent number: 6431360
Abstract: A combination includes a holder and a replaceable dispenser package. The dispenser package has an opening for dispensing one or more items from the package, and a resealable cap assembly covering the opening of the package. The resealable cap assembly includes a reclosable cap that may be opened for dispensing the one or more items from the package. The combination includes a holder for securing the dispenser package. The holder has a front wall with outer peripheral edges, and an aperture defined by inner peripheral edges of the front wall that are spaced inwardly from the outer peripheral edges of the front wall. The resealable cap assembly engages the inner peripheral edges of the front wall aperture for securing the dispenser package to the holder. In certain preferred embodiments, the resealable cap assembly may be press-fit into the aperture. In other preferred embodiments, portions of the resealable cap assembly may be slid into grooves adjacent the inner peripheral edges of the front wall aperture.

  • Patent number: 5966907
Abstract: A system for packaging one or more articles surrounded by a tubular web moving downstream along a path includes a first station having a tacking jaw at a first downstream location along the path. The tacking jaw is movable between a first open position and a second closed position for sealing a central portion of the tubular web between the one or more articles. The first station also includes two tucking blades at the first downstream location on opposite sides of the tacking jaw and the tubular web. The tucking blades are movable toward one another for forcing the sides of the tubular web toward the central portion of the tubular web while the tacking jaw is in the closed position. The system also includes a second sealing station downstream from the first sealing station including a sealing jaw substantially perpendicular to the path of the tubular web.

  • Patent number: 5647506
Abstract: A resealable dispenser for dispensing a plurality of interleaved, individual moisture-impregnated articles, such as moist tissues, includes a housing having sufficient rigidity to retain its shape subsequent to its manufacture, side and a unitary top wall having a substantially planar outer surface and a recessed portion provided with an orifice for removing individual moist tissues from the housing through the orifice. The recessed portion is formed to accommodate a portion of one of the moist tissues projecting from said orifice so as to allow pop-up dispensing. A resealable flexible label is attached to the outer surface of said top wall and completely covers the recessed portion whereby moist tissues can be individually removed from the housing such that subsequent tissues are drawn into a removal position with a portion of the next tissue remaining within the recess.

  • Patent number: 5542567
Abstract: The combination of zig zag folded tissue stack has separate portions of the tissue defined by lateral perforations. The tissue is a moisturized tissue and is retained in a special rectangular container with the free end of the tissue fitted through a slit which frictionally retains the tissue unless it is manually moved through the slit. The slit is fashioned in a manner which facilitates tearing of the portions of the tissue along the perforations after it is withdrawn through the slit. A cap for the slit is designed to keep the exposed portion of the tissue moist.
