  • Publication number: 20030118788
Abstract: The invention concerns a barrier composition, surface covering products incorporating a barrier layer, methods for making such surface covering products and methods for inhibiting or preventing the migration of sub-surface stains to the decorative portions of the surface covering products. The barrier composition comprises thermoplastic latex. The barrier composition is applied to the lower surface of the substrate of a decorative surface covering, or the lower surface of a basecoat on the substrate, and is then heat cured to obtain the barrier layer.

  • Publication number: 20020110155
Abstract: A motion control system and method that includes a central controller configured to generate first and second demand control signals to be used to define actuation motion of respective first and second actuators. The central controller is in communication with first and second nodes by way of a data network, each node including at least a respective actuator configured to implement at an actuator time a motion or force-related effort based upon the respective demand control signal. Each node also includes a memory configured to store at least one respective propagation delay parameter related to a signal propagation delay between the central controller and the node. A timing mechanism establishes timing at each node based on the respective propagation delay parameter so that the actuator time at the nodes occurs simultaneously. Strictly cyclic and/or full-duplex high-speed communication can be supported. The network can be wired in a ring or as a tree and with twisted pair cabling or fiber.

  • Publication number: 20020032541
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the invention is a method of providing an executable program from an executable program provider to a customer for use in a controller of a three dimensional coordinate measurement system. The method includes receiving a request to create an executable program from a customer and obtaining information related to the executable program. The executable program is developed which guides an operator through a number of measurement steps to be performed with the three dimensional coordinate measuring system. The executable program is delivered to the customer over a network.

  • Patent number: 5748124
Abstract: Mixed-signal tester architecture and methods are provided which minimize transfer of data, offer parallel data post-processing within the analog channels, and allow flexible synchronization. Multiple analog channels each have a source digital signal processor (DSP), a digital source sequencer, digital source instrumentation, analog source instrumentation, analog measure instrumentation, digital measure instrumentation, a digital pin multiplexer, a digital measure sequencer, DSP-addressable multi-bank capture memory, a capture digital signal processor, and an inter-DSP feedback path for communication between the source DSP and the capture DSP. Each analog channel can be arranged in a feedback loop through either its analog and/or digital instrumentation using the inter-DSP feedback path. DUT response is processed in the channel, the result is used to define parameters for a subsequent test cycle, and a signal corresponding to these parameters is generated and applied to the DUT.

  • Patent number: 5654657
Abstract: Asynchronously-generated digital and analog clocks in a mixed-signal test system are accurately aligned for repeatable and deterministic testing. A variable-frequency digital master clock signal is used in direct digital synthesis of an analog clock signal which is asynchronous to the master clock signal. A resync command inhibits the analog clock signal until the analog clock signal is in a desired phase relationship to the master clock signal. The analog clock signal is thus phase-aligned with the master clock signal in a known and deterministic relationship. The resync command also aligns the phase of the analog clock signal with the pattern of stimulus signals applied to the device under test. Aligning the analog clock signal with the master clock signal and with the stimulus pattern assures that test results are consistent from test-to-test. A phase-locked loop removes spurs from the synthesized analog clock signal.

  • Patent number: 5313151
Abstract: An actuator driven by an electric motor of the polyphase or single phase induction type has a stator with power windings as well as a rotor. At least one fixed fluxed sensor independent of the power windings is provided. The at least one sensor is arranged in an air gap between the stator and the rotor of the induction type motor such that the voltages induced in the at least one sensor represent a measure of the magnetic flux existing in the air gap. The flux sensor which is a preferably sensing winding provides a flux signal. An output signal representing the instantaneous output torque of the motor is generated by multiplying the flux signal by the electric current flowing through one or more of the stator power windings.

  • Patent number: 3959966
Abstract: The disclosure of this invention pertains to a gas turbine engine having an annular combustion chamber having an outlet duct to turbine entry vanes, an extension of the combustion chamber connecting a radially outer wall of the duct to fixed structure at a position adjacent the downstream and of the vanes, wherein the wall is covergent in the downstream direction, the extension is connected to the wall at a location upstream of the downstream extremity thereof, and cooling air passages ae arranged to lead cooling air to the junction so that on heating of chamber in operation said extremity expands radially outwardly and in the downstream direction thereby to make sealing engagement with an adjacent extremity of a shroud ring of the vanes.
