Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards presenting an avatar in a virtual reality environment in different ways to different users, based on relationship data including a familiarity level and trust level with each other user. The familiarity level data and/or trust level data can be updated with each encounter with another user. The presentations of the same avatar can be different to the other users encountered at the same time, e.g., a lower resolution avatar presented to a less familiar and/or less trusted other user, a higher resolution avatar presented to a more familiar and/or more trusted other user. Audio volume and/or clarity may be similarly modified based on relationship data. A user having an encounter with another user may have a mirror view of the user's own avatar, and can improve or degrade the avatar's appearance (and/or aural output) during the encounter.

Abstract: The disclosed technology relates to detection of attention exhibited by a second user to a first user's avatar in a virtual reality environment. A first user's avatar activity and the second user's activity are evaluated to determine the second user's (e.g., via another avatar) attention level directed towards first user's avatar. Information can be sent to notify the first user that the second user's attention level has satisfied attention-level criterion data. For example, if the second user is viewing and/or is within audio range of the first user for too long of a time or too frequently, then the first user can be notified and/or other action taken. Remedial action is available for negative attention, such blocking the second user from experiencing the first user in the environment. Detection of attention for positive purposes is available, such as to reward an influencer whose avatar is receiving significant attention from followers.

Abstract: A processing system including at least one processor may capture a video of a preparation area for a consumable item, may identify at least one item in the video, the at least one item comprising at least one of: at least one ingredient of the consumable item, or at least one tool for preparing the consumable item, and may identify annotation content for the at least one item. The processing system may then modify the video to generate a modified video that includes a visual marker associated with the annotation content and present the modified video via a device associated with a user to be served the consumable item.

Abstract: A processing system including at least one processor may identify a user viewpoint of a user at a first venue, match a viewpoint at a second venue to the user viewpoint of the user at the first venue, detect a trigger condition to provide visual content of the second venue to the user at the first venue, obtain the visual content of the second venue, wherein the visual content of the second venue is obtained from the viewpoint at the second venue, and provide the visual content of the second venue to an augmented reality device of the user at the first venue, where the augmented reality device presents the visual content of the second venue as a visual overlay within a field of view of the user.

Abstract: A processing system deployed in a carrier transport vehicle may establish a wireless communication session with a mobile device of a user, assign a zone of the carrier transport vehicle to the user, the zone including a plurality of network-connected devices, obtain a user profile from the mobile device of the user, determine at least one biometric sensor accessible via the mobile device of the user, obtain biometric data of the user from the at least one biometric sensor accessible via the mobile device of the user, determine a condition of the user based upon the biometric data, identify at least one adjustment to at least one of the plurality of network-connected devices in response to the condition of the user that is determined and the user profile, and apply the at least one adjustment to the at least one of the plurality of network-connected devices.

Abstract: A processing system of a carrier transport vehicle including at least one processor may obtain a notification of a luggage item to be placed in a stowage bin of the carrier transport vehicle, the notification including an identifier of the luggage item, detect, via the identifier of the luggage item, that the luggage item is proximate to the stowage bin, where the identifier of the luggage item is obtained via a wireless signal from the luggage item, and present at least one visual indicator associated with the stowage bin, in response to the detecting that the luggage item is proximate to the stowage bin.

Abstract: The disclosed technology is generally directed towards monitoring electronic communications to detect content in a communication that is attempting to influence the user in some way. A user can specify influential intent preference data, such as which electronic communications services/applications to monitor for such influential intent content, and the types of the influential intent to monitor for, e.g., political influence types, advertisement influence types, and so on. A user also can specify remedial or other actions to take upon detection, e.g., block such content, alert on detecting such content and so on. An electronic influence manager server and/or application program can perform the monitoring and/or take the actions. Also described is reporting on the communications with influential intent, user actions with respect thereto. Reputation data can also be collected and used with respect to sources of communications with influential intent.

Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards creating a media content presentation for playback, based on user specified input criteria and playback instructions. A user specifies input criteria related to media source data. The media source data is accessed, and further based on the input criterion, matching segments (e.g., scenes and audio) are determined from metadata information that describes the segments; the media playback content is generated from the matching segments. A user may also specify criteria/instructions that describe how to play the matching segments, such as in linear order, or based on relative relevance such as scene impactfulness. A matching scene can be repeated, and/or augmented with annotation data. For any matching scene or transition between two matching scenes, specified playback speed and audio volume can be specified and applied. As part of generation, the media content presentation can be fit to a specified time constraint.

Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards presenting promotional content via an avatar representing a first, promoter user to a second, target user experiencing a virtual or other environment. The promotional content may be presented via an alteration of the avatar, audio output and/or an object virtually associated with the avatar. The promotional content may be selected based on matching target user data describing a target user experiencing a virtual reality environment. Different users viewing the same avatar at the same time can be presented with different promotional content. Information may be output to attract a target user to perceive the promotional content. The promoter user can interact to obtain a current promotion status notification, as well as to select from available promotional content offerings to promote.

Abstract: A biosensor is provided including a detection device and a flow cell mounted to the detection device. The detection device has a detector surface with a plurality of reaction sites. The detection device also includes a filter layer. A method is providing including obtaining signal data from an array of light detectors; determining a crosstalk function for each of the light detectors of the array of light detectors; and determining characteristics of analytes of interest based on the signal data using the crosstalk functions.

Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards devices (nonhuman entities) participating in social networks. Devices that join a nonhuman social network can share information, can learn from other devices, can assist in performing tasks and so forth. A device can search for an existing nonhuman social network that matches its criteria for joining a nonhuman social network, such as a nonhuman social network of the same type of devices, a nonhuman social network within a certain neighborhood, and so on. A device can form a nonhuman social network if one does not exist that meets the device's social network join criteria. A device's user may need to give approval to join and/or form a social network. A human social network can interact with a nonhuman social network, and there can be hybrid social networks of both human and nonhuman entities. A device can change social networks over time.

Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards virtual reality bookmarks that maintain state data for a user in a virtual reality environment, such that the user can to return to that virtual reality environment at a later time. While presenting virtual reality session content to a user, a system or the like can receive a request to pause the virtual reality session from a user. Session state data, e.g., in the form of a virtual reality bookmark, is saved based on the pause request. A later request to resume presentation of the virtual reality content results in the system accessing the virtual reality session data, which is used to present resumed virtual reality session content to the user based on the session state data. A pause request may be for an individual user or for each user participating in a session. Virtual reality bookmarks may be shared with other users.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing a threat intelligence system include a system provider device that downloads, through communication over a network and from one or more targeted websites, a plurality of images of a first environment. Based on an OCR process, the system provider device may extract a set of textual data corresponding to a subset of images of the plurality of images, where the subset of images depict text. The system provider device stores the set of textual data in an indexed and searchable database. The system provider device assigns a threat assessment score to each image based on the set of textual data, and the threat assessment score may be updated based on comparison of the set of textual data with other sets of textual data. Based on the threat assessment score being greater than a threshold value, the system provider device may generate a security alert.

Abstract: Methods and systems are presented for providing enriched technical security data to a risk engine of an online service provider, and for adjusting security settings based on the enriched data. The enriched security data may be generated by recursively deriving additional security information from an initial security data input. The initial security data input may be associated with a risk source, such as a person or a device that submits an electronic request to the online service provider. Based on the initial security data input, the risk engine may recursively derive additional security information that enriches the initial security data input. The risk engine may then use the derived security information as well as the initial security data input to assess a risk level of the risk source, and then adjust a security setting of the online service provider based on the assessed risk level of the risk source.
