Abstract: In one embodiment, a donation computing device is configured to receive donations from donors and to allot to the donor a quantity of donation indications that may be included in electronic communications transmitted by the donor. The allotted number of donation indications may be based at least partly on a donation amount received from the donor and/or a denomination amount associated with the donation indications. The donation indications may comprise graphical images and/or text, for example, such as representations of postage stamps that may be inserted into emails. The recipients of the electronic communications may then make additional donations to the donee in response to viewing the donation indication in the received electronic communication. In one embodiment, the donees may access information about the donors, such as contact information, so that the donees may transmit thank you communications to the donors and encourage that further donations are made.

Abstract: A system and method that relates to managing multiple network device connections and/or collectors for collecting event source data from one or more network devices, filtering event source data, continuously monitoring connection status to the one or more network devices, controlling raw data collection from the one or more network devices, parsing event source data into normalized data structures, and/or managing collector configurations, among other things. Event sources may be network devices (physical or logical) across a network, including but not limited to, firewalls, routers, biometric devices, mainframes, databases and/or applications. A network device may be a source from which a collector may receive and/or request event data.

Abstract: An apparatus is described for transferring hazardous material between the interior of a container and the chamber of a fume hood having a port that includes a flexible enclosure with an upper surface, a lower surface and a side surface; a first conduit extending from the enclosure to connect to the port; a second conduit extending from the enclosure to connect with the container; and a pair of glove ports in the enclosure outer wall, including sleeved gloves extending into the enclosure, whereby the interior of the container and the chamber of the fume hood are accessible through the glove ports. The apparatus may also include means for supporting the enclosure in an open position above the container.

The particles produced find application in for example pharmaceutical and agrochemical formulations, especially in inhalation formulations.

Abstract: An adjustable measuring device for measuring contents, such as liquids and granulated solids, having a usable volume for measuring. The adjustable measuring device includes a housing, a platform having a lower position and an upper position, and an adjusting system for moving the platform between the lower position and the upper position. When the platform is in the lower position, the usable volume is maximized. When the platform is in the upper position, the usable volume is minimized. The adjusting system comprises a restraint system adapted to maintain the platform between the lower position and the upper position. Also, the adjusting system comprises a discrete locking system adapted to temporarily lock the platform into a plurality of predetermined positions, which represent discrete usable volumes. By applying a first adjusting force, the platform moves toward the upper position. By applying a second adjusting force, the platform moves toward the lower position.

Abstract: A fume hood is described for use in removing material from, or inserting material into, the opening of a container. The fume hood enclosure has a floor with an opening for insertion of the upper end of the container into the enclosure. The floor includes a circumferential groove around the opening, preferably in a raised shoulder. An annular flexible membrane having an inner diameter smaller than the diameter of the opening is placed in axial alignment over the opening and the groove. A vacuum is drawn on the groove through a vacuum port to pull the section of the membrane above the groove into the groove, holding the membrane securely in place during use. If desired, a retainer can be placed in the groove above the membrane to prevent movement of the membrane in the event of a loss of vacuum.

Then, the abstract mathematical vector space is perturbed to produce a perturbed abstract mathematical vector space that is stored in an electronic format accessible to a user. Perturbing the abstract mathematical vector space may include modifying the representation of a document with a newly computed representation for that document, or modifying the representation of a term with a newly computed representation for that term.

Abstract: A hydraulic system for a work machine having a linkage system is disclosed. The hydraulic system has a tank configured to hold a supply of fluid and at least one hydraulic actuator associated with the linkage system to affect movement of the linkage system. The at least one hydraulic actuator has a first pressure chamber and a second pressure chamber. The hydraulic system also has an independent metering valve associated with the first pressure chamber. The independent metering valve has a valve element movable between a first position at which fluid communication between the first pressure chamber and the tank is blocked, and a second position at which fluid is allowed to drain from the first pressure chamber to the tank. The hydraulic system further has at least one sensor configured to sense a parameter indicative of a pressure in the second pressure chamber, and a controller in communication with the independent metering valve and the sensor.

Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides a method for automatically subdividing a document into conceptually cohesive segments. The method includes the following steps: subdividing the document into contiguous blocks of text; generating an abstract mathematical space based on the blocks of text, wherein each block of text has a representation in the abstract mathematical space; computing similarity scores for adjacent blocks of text based on the similarity scores; and aggregating similar adjacent blocks of text based on the similarity scores.

Abstract: Computer-based methods for automatically identifying and compensating for stop words contained in documents are described. The method for compensating for stop words includes: generating an abstract mathematical space based on documents included in a collection of documents, wherein each document has a representation in the abstract mathematical space; receiving a user query; generating a representation of the user query in the abstract mathematical; computing a similarity between the representation of the user query and the representation of each document, wherein computing a similarity between the representation of the user query and the representation of a first document in the collection of documents comprises applying a weighting function to a value associated with a frequently occurring word contained in the first document, thereby automatically compensating for the frequently occurring word contained in the first document; and displaying a result based on the similarity computations.

The hand-held programmable device is operable to adjust the parameters in response to an input from an operator. A control module is disposed on the work machine and is operable to receive signals from the hand-held programmable device. The signals are representative of a desired relationship between an operator input to the input controller and a corresponding response of the work machine.
