  • Publication number: 20200211123
Abstract: A single automated accounting and business analysis system is employed to acquire, organize, record, analyze and plan all the relevant financial and non-financial metrics utilized by an individual or group. This includes all the internally generated metrics and external metrics such as data related to the economy, a particular industry, weather conditions, etc. The system employs heuristics to learn from previous associations and links data based on previous associations.

  • Patent number: 9658438
Abstract: A compound polyhedral concentrator (CPOC) lens is disclosed with one smooth curved surface facing the sun and an inner surface comprised of a 3D pattern of interpenetrating minimum deviation prisms with a common origin facing the absorber. This new type of stationary solar concentrator is used to extend the acceptance angles by minimizing blocking and tip optical losses that are common with radial Fresnel design forms. Moreover, when considering the extended time period for non-tracking of the sun's movement commensurate with the increased acceptance angles the total energy collected using a combination of a CPOC lens and a photovoltaic device will be greater than the total energy collected using the photovoltaic device by itself.

  • Patent number: 9065930
Abstract: An exemplary method for providing presence detection in a communication system includes associating the identity of a first entity participating in the communication system, with a communication link of the system, and providing access to information regarding the first entity to other entities participating in the communication system. An exemplary method can further include receiving an indication of an incident, including a class or magnitude of the incident, accessing a list of users authorized to participate in the communication system, based on the indication, and denying users absent from the accessed list, access to the communication system. The last communication mechanism or communication address used by each authorized user can also be determined, and displayed.

  • Publication number: 20150128049
Abstract: An advanced user interface includes a display device and a processing unit. The processing unit causes the display device to display a dynamic user interface containing a plurality of input areas in an adaptive graphical arrangement, detect user in puts on the dynamic user interface, and record the user inputs in a memory unit in association with a context of information inputted by the user. The graphical arrangement of input areas includes at least one primary input area, each of which is respectively associated with different information. The processing unit detects a user input for one of the input areas, compares the detected user input with prior user inputs recorded in the memory unit, and predicts a first next user input based on the comparison and the context of information associated with the detected user input.

  • Patent number: 8639390
Abstract: A system is disposed at a location of a utility commodity subscriber for informing the subscriber of and controlling utility commodity usage. The system includes utility meters, an information and control apparatus, and a first and second data communication link. The meters measure usage and generate usage signals. The information and control apparatus includes a microprocessor, a memory, a clock, and a user interface. The first data communication link is between the utility meters and the information and control apparatus, and the second data communication link is between the information and control apparatus and one or more central locations. The second communication link also provides rate information to the information and control apparatus and utility commodity usage data to the one or more central locations. The microprocessor computes an accumulated cost of utility commodity for a predetermined period of time. Information related to the accumulated cost is output to the subscriber.
