  • Publication number: 20110203079
Abstract: A system for incorporation into a retractable covering that includes a flexible lift cord extending from a headrail to a bottom rail. The system includes a flexible protector of a length similar to that of an associated lift cord with the lift cord being operatively connected to the protector. The protector is in turn connected to a fabric extending between the headrail and the bottom rail at predetermined spaced locations so that any loop of protector formable is limited by the spacing between the locations at which the protector is connected to the fabric. The maximum size of a loop so formed in the protector and thus the lift cord associated therewith is insufficient to encapsulate a body part of a child or infant.

  • Patent number: 7958014
Abstract: A method and apparatus for distributed computing in a network data processing system. A task is accepted for distributed computing. Work units are sent to a plurality of data processing systems on a network, wherein each data processing system within the plurality of data processing systems includes a software for accepting a work unit, processing the work unit to generate a result, and returning the result, wherein the software is monitored for compliance with an operation policy requiring a connection to the network and allocating a period of time for processing work units. Results are received from the plurality of data processing systems. These data processing systems may be individually owned by consumers in which the systems are provided at no cost or some lower cost in return for making available processing resources for processing work units.

  • Patent number: 7860825
Abstract: Web Applications run as software which is served through a portal or browser. However this precludes their use offline or when connectivity is not present. The present invention is a method for creating offline web applications and managing associated user data which is created offline and must later be reconciled with one or more central servers without a data collision. This allows the system to efficiently know which version of different pieces of user data are new and which need to be added to centralized servers. This method also applies to the actual web application program files so that software applications can be synchronized in addition to user data enabling a transparent online and offline user experience. The method described here also applies to mobile computing devices such as cellular telephones and personal digital assistants. A side benefit of the method introduced here is that data sets can be distributed in manner which allows peer to peer synchronization and filedata distribution.

  • Patent number: 7702282
Abstract: Interactions with a trigger device and/or body motions, such as motions detected with an accelerometer, may be used to augment user input interaction with a mobile terminal. In one implementation, logic senses when a first trigger device enters close proximity to the mobile terminal. A command for the mobile terminal is then executed based on the trigger device. The trigger device may be, for example, integrated with jewelry or clothing.

  • Publication number: 20080117592
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for facilitating cooling of an electronics rack employing an air delivery structure coupled to the electronics rack. The air delivery structure delivers air flow at a location external to the electronics rack and in a direction to facilitate mixing thereof with re-circulating exhausted inlet-to-outlet air flow from the air outlet side of the electronics rack to the air inlet side thereof. The delivered air flow is cooler than the re-circulating exhausted inlet-to-outlet air flow and when mixed with the re-circulating air flow facilitates lowering air inlet temperature at a portion of the air inlet side of the electronics rack, thereby enhancing cooling of the electronics rack.
