  • Patent number: 9186155
Abstract: A method for treating back pain by stabilizing the sacroiliac joint. The method includes fusing a sacrum bone to an ilium bone or otherwise mechanically immobilizing the sacroiliac joint by inserting at least two implants into voids formed within or between the articular surfaces of each sacroiliac joint of a patient without substantially distracting the joint. The voids are arranged within each joint at either a converging orientation or a diverging orientation. A kit containing the implants and tools required to insert the implants into the joint are also described.

  • Publication number: 20150237475
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for delivering emergent event notifications to a user's Mobile Device. Map and Calendar applications are polled with correlations made between map locations and event information. Geo-Fence Boundaries are established for map locations which are inherited by their associated events. Penetration of a Geo-Fence Boundary by a Mobile Device running the Mobile Application triggers a search for events that are associated with the established Geo-Fence Boundary. Filtered Notifications of event options of interest to the user are transmitted to the Mobile Device based on pre-established and dynamic variables and whether the user can arrive at the event while it is underway. Upon selection of an event by the user, the Mobile Device provides route and navigation guidance to the selected location.

  • Patent number: 9057453
Abstract: A low-cost safety valve for gas lines and similar supply lines that can be remotely activated via a secure wireless link employing a low leakage sealing mechanism that is compatible with low energy actuators to for extended battery life. A miniaturized controller and wireless electronics assembly provides the control mechanism for actuating the valve, as well as reporting data regarding the valve status to wireless interrogators or external networks via an ad hoc wireless network. A variety of simple magnetic valve operating mechanisms can be implemented with the miniaturized electronic control circuits and the valve body. Such control actuation mechanisms enable automatic resetting or manual resetting valves. The gas line shut off valve can provide important safety benefits at an affordable price. An RFID transceiver may be included to enable low-power operation and communications using RFID technologies as well as an automatic antenna tuning capability to maximize radio range.

  • Publication number: 20140290877
Abstract: A system for incorporation into a retractable covering that includes a flexible lift cord extending from a headrail to a bottom rail. The system includes a flexible protector of a length similar to that of an associated lift cord with the lift cord being operatively connected to the protector. The protector is in turn connected to a fabric extending between the headrail and the bottom rail at predetermined spaced locations so that any loop of protector formable is limited by the spacing between the locations at which the protector is connected to the fabric. The maximum size of a loop so formed in the protector and thus the lift cord associated therewith is insufficient to encapsulate a body part of a child or infant.

  • Publication number: 20140170877
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a housing and a conductive contact member disposed in the housing. A first contact portion of the conductive contact member receives a blade contact of an electrical device and a second contact portion electrically engages an inserted electrical wire. A spring member is disposed in the housing and is connected to the contact member. A rotatable member is movable between first and second positions. When the rotatable member is in the second position the spring member secures an inserted wire in electrical engagement with the conductive contact member and prevents removal of the inserted wire. When the rotatable member is in the first position the spring member allows for removal of an inserted wire and allows for insertion of a wire in the housing.
