Abstract: A low-cost safety valve for gas lines and similar supply lines that can be remotely activated via a secure wireless link employing a low leakage sealing mechanism that is compatible with low energy actuators to for extended battery life. A miniaturized controller and wireless electronics assembly provides the control mechanism for actuating the valve, as well as reporting data regarding the valve status to wireless interrogators or external networks via an ad hoc wireless network. A variety of simple magnetic valve operating mechanisms can be implemented with the miniaturized electronic control circuits and the valve body. Such control actuation mechanisms enable automatic resetting or manual resetting valves. The gas line shut off valve can provide important safety benefits at an affordable price.

The heel-driven pedal further including at least one cut-out, allowing the heel-driven pedal to be coupled to a standard toe-driven drum pedal for the primary percussion instrument. The heel-driven pedal coupled to the toe-driven drum pedal so that both pedals can be operated with one foot.

Abstract: A system and method manages work requests used in reading and servicing gas, electric, or water meters in a utility system. A work request may originate at a utility system and is received at a data collection system. The work request may be generated based on an underlying data structure. The underlying data structure may be used in generating requests for multiple types of work events, including meter monitoring work events and meter servicing work events. The work request is then processed to generate a work order which is transmitted to a field device component or other component of the system so that work may be performed as directed in the request.

Abstract: Web Applications run as software which is served through a portal or browser. However this precludes their use offline or when connectivity is not present. The present invention is a method for creating offline web applications and managing associated user data which is created offline and must later be reconciled with one or more central servers without a data collision. This allows the system to efficiently know which version of different pieces of user data are new and which need to be added to centralized servers. This method also applies to the actual web application program files so that software applications can be synchronized in addition to user data enabling a transparent online and offline user experience. The method described here also applies to mobile computing devices such as cellular telephones and personal digital assistants. A side benefit of the method introduced here is that data sets can be distributed in manner which allows peer to peer synchronization and filedata distribution.
