Abstract: A serial point-to-point link interface to enable communication between a processor and a device, the high speed serial point-to-point link interface including a transmitter to transmit serial data, a receiver to deserialize serial data, and control logic to implement a protocol stack. The protocol stack supports a plurality of power management states, including an active state, a first off state, in which a supply voltage is maintained, and a second off state, in which the supply voltage is not to be provided to the device. The protocol stack provides a default recovery time to allow the device to begin a transition from the first off state to the active state prior to accessing the device. The protocol stack further provides for accessing the device prior to expiration of the default recovery time to complete the transition based on a device-advertised recovery time.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for improving the biocompatibility of a surface, in particular a solid body surface, as well as a device, for example an implant, sensor or cell culture vessel, which is brought in contact with biological systems with a biocompatible surface. To improve the biocompatibility of surfaces, in particular in relation to cell cultures and tissues, in a simple way and for a plurality of different surfaces, the surface is meant to be brought in contact with reactive radicals according to the invention. The device according to the invention has a biocompatible surface that has been treated pursuant to the method according to the invention.

Abstract: Liveness verification of a logic design is performed using various shadow abstraction refinement techniques. An initial subset of state elements are included in the shadow abstraction, and verification is performed (liveness-to-safety conversion) using this initial subset. If a liveness counterexample is detected, the shadow abstraction is refined by designating a second subset of the state elements different from the initial subset for inclusion in a refined abstraction. The initial subset can be designated by choosing all registers in a combinational fan-in of a liveness property of the design. High-performance algorithms for abstract liveness-to-safety conversion can be based upon simulation and counterexample refinement, bounded model checking and counterexample refinement, bounded model checking and proof-based refinement, proofs obtained during bounded model checking of a precise liveness checking problem, a hybrid of counterexample-based refinement and proof analysis, and proofs obtained.

Abstract: Described herein are methods useful for incorporating one or more adaptors and/or nucleotide tag(s) and/or barcode nucleotide sequence(s) one, or typically more, target nucleotide sequences. In particular embodiments, nucleic acid fragments having adaptors, e.g., suitable for use in high-throughput DNA sequencing are generated. In other embodiments, information about a reaction mixture is encoded into a reaction product. Also described herein are methods and kits useful for amplifying one or more target nucleic acids in preparation for applications such as bidirectional nucleic acid sequencing. In particular embodiments, methods of the invention entail additionally carrying out bidirectional DNA sequencing. Also described herein are methods for encoding and detecting and/or quantifying alleles by primer extension.

Abstract: A method for producing a polymer-metal oxide composite material resistant to degradation resulting from exposure to gamma irradiation, the method comprising exposing a composite precursor comprised of a heat-resistant polymer in which metal oxide nanoparticles are incorporated to gamma irradiation of at least 1 MRad in a flowing gas atmosphere for a period of at least 12 hours. The resulting radiation-resistant composite material and shaped articles of the material are also described.

Abstract: Visual task feedback for workstations in a materials handling facility may be implemented. Image data of a workstation surface may be obtained from image sensors. The image data may be evaluated with regard to the performance of an item-handling task at the workstation. The evaluation of the image data may identify items located on the workstation surface, determine a current state of the item-handling task, or recognize an agent gesture at the workstation. Based, at least in part on the evaluation, one or more visual task cues may be selected to project onto the workstation surface. The projection of the selected visual task cues onto the workstation surface may then be directed.

The adapter socket assembly is configured to accept a circuit card edge connector. At least one of the first and second ends has a void for accepting longitudinal insertion of the circuit card. The adapter further includes an edge connector assembly fixedly attached the adapter socket assembly. The edge connector assembly has a second set of electrical contacts arranged to couple electrically when the edge connector assembly is inserted into a fixed connector socket. The adapter socket assembly is fixedly attached to the edge connector assembly. Each contact of the first set of contacts is electrically coupled to a corresponding one of the second set of contacts.

The first inductor coil comprises a first plurality of layers of a flat conductor about a first aperture positioned on a first side of the rare earth permanent magnet material at a first location where a magnetic source is to be magnetized into the rare earth permanent magnet material from the first side of the rare earth permanent magnet material.

Abstract: A fipple for a bladed edge or labium lip resonated musical wind instrument, such as a tin whistle, Irish whistle or recorder, is constructed with a windway, blade and mouth. The two-piece tip and body fipple facilitates precise and accurate machined geometries. These geometries include but are not limited to chamfered windway openings and curved labium lips for extra sympathetic harmonics or “tone color”. The two-piece design also facilitates the use of two different materials, the tip may be constructed from a material that is comfortable and safe to hold in a human mouth and the body or blade material may be constructed from a metallic material to maximize volume and wind efficiency.
