  • Publication number: 20050125210
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a system and method for representing chemical compounds in a canonical manner that enables one to associate multiple structures, including proto-stereomers, with a compound. Embodiments of the present invention can receive an input representation of a structure of a compound, neutralize acidic and basic atoms in the structure, remove chiral specifications associated with invertible and proto-invertible centers of the structure, and identify various neutral protomers of the compound based on tautomeric transforms applied based upon heuristic rules or other means to assess the plausibility of protomers or based upon any other set of rules. The neutral protomers can be canonically ranked and one of the neutral protomers can be selected as a canonically unique protomer for the compound. By generating a representation of the canonically unique protomer, the compound itself can be represented and identified in a canonically unique manner.

  • Publication number: 20050122684
Abstract: A cooling system is provided employing at least two modular cooling units (MCUs). Each MCU is capable of providing system coolant to multiple electronics subsystems to be cooled, and each includes a heat exchanger, a first cooling loop with at least one control valve, and a second cooling loop. The first cooling loop receives chilled facility coolant from a source and passes at least a portion thereof through the heat exchanger, with the portion being controlled by the at least one control valve. The second cooling loop provides cooled system coolant to the multiple electronics subsystems, and expels heat in the heat exchanger from the multiple electronics subsystems to the chilled facility coolant in the first cooling loop. The at least one control valve allows regulation of facility coolant flow through the heat exchanger, thereby allowing control of temperature of system coolant in the second cooling loop.

  • Publication number: 20050125748
Abstract: A method, system and program product that implements area minimization of a circuit design while respecting the explicit and implicit design constraints, in the form of ground rules and user intent. A longest path algorithm is used to generate a scaling factor. The scaling factor is used to reduce the size of the circuit design to the minimum legal size. The scaling may be followed by application of minpert analysis to correct any errors introduced by the scaling. The resulting design is shrunk (or expanded) with all elements shrinking (or growing) together by the same factor, and with the relative relationships of elements maintained. In addition, the invention is operational in the presence of a positive cycle, can be run with scaling that freezes the sizes of any structure or ground rule, and can be applied to technology migration.

  • Publication number: 20050124142
Abstract: A method for the transposed splitting of ion cut materials. Getters are formed and selectively introduced into a solid material. In addition, atoms are introduced into the solid material at a location that is offset spatially from the locating of the getters. The atoms introduced into the solid material are then transported to the location of the getters where they will then condense in the region of the getters. As a result, then any expunged layer that is formed by ion splitting as result of the atoms being introduced into the solid material will follow the contour of the location of the getters, and will thus be transposed from the initial location of the atoms introduced into the solid material.

  • Publication number: 20050125468
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for systematic random testing of single/double-precision, one/two-variable or scalar/vector mathematical functions against a known higher precision reference mathematical library or to the result of an arbitrary precision mathematical package. The systematic random testing of mathematical functions is performed across the entire floating-point range or a test interval defined therein, including denormalized numbers with random test arguments appropriately distributed over the test interval. By ensuring the density of coverage of random test arguments across the test interval by comparison against a statistical model and identifying the exception behavior of the mathematical function, an accurate picture of the performance and accuracy of the mathematical function can be assessed.

  • Publication number: 20050123105
Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring a call directed to a telephony network-based voice messaging service (VMS) implemented using packet-switched data network telephone conferencing resources, such as an IP-based voice-over-IP conferencing system. The systems and methods use one or more media gateway systems providing an interface between a conventional telephony domain and packet-switched data domain. When a call is to be redirected to the VMS system, the telephony network routes the call via the packet-switched data network using the media gateway. An application server in the packet-switched data network maintains registration information associated with the subscriber. If the subscriber is logged onto the packet-switched data network, the conferencing resources are used to establish a conference call between the caller, the VMS and the subscriber.
