  • Publication number: 20170203768
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for rendering views to an output device and controlling a vehicle. The method includes determining a maneuver path for the vehicle within a spatial environment around the vehicle based on vehicle data from one or more vehicle systems of the vehicle. The method includes updating a view based on the spatial environment and the maneuver path, by augmenting one or more components of a model to provide a representation of the maneuver path virtually in the view as an available maneuver path or an unavailable maneuver path. The view is rendered to an output device and a vehicle maneuver request is generated based on the maneuver path. Further, the one or more vehicle systems are controlled to execute the vehicle maneuver request.

  • Publication number: 20170186240
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for rendering views to an output device in a vehicle that is restricted to a fixed track that has a predetermined fixed path. Vehicle data about the vehicle is received from an off-vehicle device that is located remotely from the vehicle and along the predetermined fixed path. The vehicle data includes a velocity, an orientation, and a location of the vehicle. User data about a user in a vehicle is received that includes a velocity, an orientation, and a location. The method includes generating a view based on the vehicle data, the user data, and a model. The model includes one or more components that define the view. The method includes determining a difference between the vehicle data and the user data, and rendering the view to the output device by controlling the output device to display the view according to the determined difference.

  • Publication number: 20170103147
Abstract: One or more aspects for managing a vehicle configuration or implementing a vehicle configuration within a vehicle are disclosed herein. A vehicle configuration profile may be built by receiving simulation inputs associated with an entity, executing and rendering a simulation for a vehicle type within a simulation environment, providing simulation stimuli within the simulation environment, monitoring driving parameters provided in response to the simulation stimuli and building the vehicle configuration profile based on the driving parameters. A vehicle configuration may be implemented within a vehicle by receiving a vehicle configuration profile, sensing actual conditions, and operating the vehicle based on the vehicle configuration profile and actual conditions. The vehicle configuration profile may be indicative of a preferred driving style associated with the entity during transport across a plurality of simulated conditions.

  • Publication number: 20160214907
Abstract: The disclosure describes techniques for forming a surface layer of an article including a CMC using a cast. In some examples, the surface layer includes three-dimensional surface features, which may increase adhesion between the CMC and a coating on the CMC. In some examples, the surface layer may include excess material, with or without three-dimensional surface features, which is on the CMC. The excess material may be machined to remove some of the excess material and facilitate conforming the article to dimensional tolerances, e.g., for fitting the article to another component. The excess material may reduce a likelihood that the CMC (e.g., reinforcement material in the CMC) is damaged by the machining.
