  • Patent number: 10616033
Abstract: According to one or more aspects, systems and methods for providing different virtual environment perspectives based on a common virtual environment are described herein. A virtual environment model associated with a virtual environment, including a first virtual object associated with virtual environment coordinates, a first set of functions corresponding to a first virtual environment mode, and a second set of functions corresponding to a second virtual environment mode may be stored on a database. A virtual environment engine may generate a first virtual environment view of the first virtual object based on the first virtual environment mode and generate a second virtual environment view of the first virtual object based on the second virtual environment mode. The first virtual environment view and the second virtual environment view are respectively rendered on different devices in a concurrent fashion.

  • Publication number: 20200075043
Abstract: According to one aspect, driver management is provided. One or more speech segments of a driver of an autonomous vehicle may be recorded. A position, a destination, or a previous destination of a driver or an autonomous vehicle may be tracked. An estimated state of the driver may be determined based on one or more of the speech segments, the position, the destination, or the previous destination, and a calendar event associated with the driver or a passenger of the autonomous vehicle. Autonomous driving features may be automatically enabled, disabled, or operation of the autonomous vehicle may be enabled or disabled in different modes based on the estimated state of the driver. Additionally, notifications may be displayed, rideshare applications may be launched, or warnings may be sent based on the estimated state of the driver.

  • Publication number: 20190389782
Abstract: The disclosure describes techniques for forming a surface layer of an article including a CMC using a cast. In some examples, the surface layer includes three-dimensional surface features, which may increase adhesion between the CMC and a coating on the CMC. In some examples, the surface layer may include excess material, with or without three-dimensional surface features, which is on the CMC. The excess material may be machined to remove some of the excess material and facilitate conforming the article to dimensional tolerances, e.g., for fitting the article to another component. The excess material may reduce a likelihood that the CMC (e.g., reinforcement material in the CMC) is damaged by the machining.

  • Patent number: 10453260
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for rendering views to an output device in a vehicle that is restricted to a fixed track that has a predetermined fixed path. Vehicle data about the vehicle is received from an off-vehicle device that is located remotely from the vehicle and along the predetermined fixed path. The vehicle data includes a velocity, an orientation, and a location of the vehicle. User data about a user in a vehicle is received that includes a velocity, an orientation, and a location. The method includes generating a view based on the vehicle data, the user data, and a model. The model includes one or more components that define the view. The method includes determining a difference between the vehicle data and the user data, and rendering the view to the output device by controlling the output device to display the view according to the determined difference.

  • Publication number: 20190284815
Abstract: A fastener assembly for mounting a panel to a framework includes an elongate flexible tie having a proximal end and an opposing distal end and a clamping block. The clamping block has a tie-receiving channel extending between an inner and an opposing outer side, and a gripper in or adjacent the tie-receiving channel for gripping the tie. The proximal end is fixable to the clamping block and, in use, the inner side of the clamping block abuts the panel and the gripper grips the tie such that tension in the tie presses the inner side of the clamping block against the panel. A mesh panel made of polymeric material and having a honeycomb shaped mesh, together with the fastener assembly, forms a barrier system for erecting a drop-protection barrier on a safety railing, scaffolding, or like framework.

  • Publication number: 20190288353
Abstract: A cold plate for a battery may comprise channels that extend from a first end of the plate to a second end of the plate or from a first side of the plate to a second side of the plate, the channels are located in parallel with each other and between the top surface and the bottom surface. The channels may be separated from each other by walls. The plate may be milled to form a first manifold on each end. The plate may also be milled to form notches in the surface(s) over the manifold. A port for the inlet and a port for the outlet of a working fluid may be inserted into the notches. The plate may have end caps, and the end caps and the ports may be welded or brazed to form a sealed enclosure.
