  • Publication number: 20130342857
Abstract: An approach is provided for cloud administrative management of spatial uniformity correction useful in printing. The approach involves determining, by a cloud administration system, an achievable gamut achievable by an imaging system for at least one of: all spatial locations of an output image, all print engines of a plurality of print engines, and at least one printer within a cluster of printers. The approach also involves determining, a mean gamut. The approach further involves causing, at least in part, a gamut mapping from the mean gamut to the achievable gamut. The approach additionally involves determining a set of transformations for each of a set of input colors to a set of target colors, the set of target colors selected from colors in the achievable gamut. The approach further involves causing, at least in part, an output image to be generated based, at least in part, on the transformed values.

  • Patent number: 8614821
Abstract: A data centric, cloud architecture for managing image forming device information through interactive communication with customer replaceable unit monitors (CRUMs) associated with customer replaceable units (CRUs) installed in image forming devices is provided. CRUM identifiers and a cloud data objects containing the same unique identifiers are used to aid a supplier or manufacturer in keying individual CRUs to particular installations in printers and/or other image forming devices. This association strengthens the ability to logistically control the CRUs. A cloud administration system is used to track an identifier for a CRU installed in a particular image forming device such as, for example, a printer, to determine whether the CRU identifier matches an associated cloud object identifier for that printer.

  • Patent number: 8565963
Abstract: A system and method for tracking a vehicle-centric data and a user-centric data with respect to a vehicle. A vehicle-based device can be configured with a vehicle-based application in order to collect and cache the vehicle-centric data. Additionally, an existing vehicle data interface can provide such vehicle-centric data and other data. A GPS-enabled wireless communications device configured with a vehicle and user data tracking module can be interfaced with the vehicle-based device via a wireless technology in order to retrieve the vehicle-centric data with respect to the vehicle. The user-centric data can also be collected from the wireless communications device via a wireless application when the user is external to the vehicle. The vehicle-centric data and the user-centric-data can be then transmitted to a centralized server in order to track a historical and real time GPS location and navigation data.
