  • Publication number: 20180244189
Abstract: Vehicle load box rail trim brackets, including a rail trim bracket comprised of a housing that is attached to a trim piece, a clamp that engages a load box rail; and a cam disposed between the housing and clamp. The housing, clamp, and cam are configured such that the clamp substantially rotates about the cam, the cam creating a metastable fulcrum point where forces between the housing, clamp, and cam are at a maximum. Rotating the clamp past the fulcrum point causes the clamp to engage the housing. The cam keeps the clamp in tension against the load box rail and in compression against the housing so as to secure the trim to the load box rail. The housing, clamp, and cam are preferably manufactured from glass-reinforced plastic.

  • Patent number: 10056533
Abstract: Quantum dots and methods of making quantum dots are described. A method begins with forming quantum dots having a core-shell structure with a plurality of ligands on the shell structure. The method includes exchanging the plurality of ligands with a plurality of second ligands. The plurality of second ligands have a weaker binding affinity to the shell structure than the plurality of first ligands. The plurality of second ligands are then exchanged with hydrolyzed alkoxysilane to form a monolayer of hydrolyzed alkoxysilane on a surface of the shell structure. The method includes forming a barrier layer around the shell structure by using the hydrolyzed alkoxysilane as a nucleation center.

  • Patent number: 10011013
Abstract: Example implementations may relate to a cloud service that stores a detection metric corresponding to a maintenance request for a particular component. In particular, the cloud may receive sensor data from various robotic systems each having the particular component. The cloud may then determine, based on the sensor data, performance data for the particular component over time at the various robotic systems. The cloud may also determine various maintenance events for the particular component. Based on the performance data, the cloud may determine that at least one maintenance event occurs at other metrics that are different from the detection metric. Responsively, the cloud may adjust the detection metric based on a difference between the detection metric and the other metrics. The cloud may then detect operation of a particular robotic system at the adjusted detection metric and may responsively request maintenance for the particular component at the particular robotic system.

  • Patent number: 10013728
Abstract: A backup account recovery authentication of last resort using social authentication is described. The account holder requests trustees who have been previously identified to obtain an account recovery code. The account recovery system sends a communication to the trustee for information to verify the trustee as one of the previously identified trustees. The account recovery system then may transmit a link and code with instructions for the trustee to return the link. The account recovery system then transmits a situational query to the trustee to provide additional security. Finally, if all the communications have been completed for the required level of security, the account recovery code is transmitted to the trustee. The trustee sends the account recovery code to the account holder for access to an account.

  • Publication number: 20180155195
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for heating alane etherate compositions for producing microcrystalline alpha alane. An exemplary heating method comprises introducing a preheated solvent into the alane etherate composition and rapidly stirring to effectuate rapid heating of the composition without the need to heat the reactor walls. In this way, the alane etherate composition can be heated while also reducing the risk of decomposition. In further embodiments, a two-stage reactor can be employed for producing alpha alane, wherein the heating occurs in the second stage.
