  • Patent number: 4964994
Abstract: A hydrocyclone separator for separating oil from water includes a substantially cylindrical first portion with a central overflow outlet and at least one tangential flow inlet, an essentially single angled conical second portion, and a substantially cylindrical third portion, with a central underflow outlet. The hydrocyclone separator is made in accordance with the following relationships:do<du<Dc0.1.ltoreq. di/Dc.ltoreq. 0.40.01.ltoreq. do/Dc.ltoreq. 0.060.ltoreq. • Patent number: 4927536
Abstract: A hydrocyclone separation system is disclosed for separating a fluid mixture into at least two separate density components and for precluding remixing of semi-separated higher density components. A first and second hydrocyclone separators each has a central overflow outlet, a tangential fluid inlet, and a central overflow outlet. The first and second hydrocyclone separators are oppositely disposed such that a curved flow direction conduit extends from the underflow outlet of the first hydrocyclone separator to the tangential fluid inlet of the second hydrocyclone separator. Thereby, rotating fluid exiting the underflow of the first hydrocyclone separator is tangentially passed into the inlet of the second hydrocyclone separator precluding remixing of semi-separated higher density components and increasing the overall separation efficiency of the system.

  • Patent number: 4277875
Abstract: A releasing tool for use in disconnecting a casing or conductor pipe cemented below the marine floor from a riser pipe supported from a floating vessel in which the riser pipe and conductor are held together by a snap ring. This includes cam carrier connectable to the lower end of a longitudinal member, such as a drill pipe, and a releasing pin block carrying radially supported releasing pins which are urged inwardly. When the cam of the cam carrier is urged downwardly with respect to the releasing pin block it forces the releasing pins outwardly through ports in the latch pin of the casing to release the split rings from its engaging position.

  • Patent number: 4192420
Abstract: A flexible, moisture-impervious package for moistened webs includes a pocket portion and a flap section. The pocket portion includes an interior compartment in which the moistened webs are retained. A weakened region provided in a top wall of the pocket portion defines a plug section that is separate from surrounding sections of the top wall to form a dispensing opening through which the moistened webs can be removed. The flap section has a pressure sensitive adhesive layer on an inwardly facing surface, and this adhesive layer is adhered to the top wall in at least the plug section and the wall sections surrounding the plug section.

  • Patent number: 4147036
Abstract: A scissored sea-floor well template for positioning spacing of subsea wells or piling in the sea floor. Two arms, each having a pontoon template at each end thereof, are pivotally connected. The two arms are rotated about the pivot to a closed position for transportation to the marine site at which they are to be used. Inasmuch as the template is provided with pontoons, it can be towed and does not have to be loaded on a barge although it could be. Upon reaching the well site the arms are opened so that the pontoon templates assume the desired shape. The arms are then locked in this extended position and the scissor well template is then lowered to the ocean floor.

  • Patent number: 4131195
Abstract: A disposable, compactable moisture-impervious package for dispensing a stack of premoistened sheets has a pocket portion and a flap portion, each made of a pliable and compactable moisture-impervious material. The pocket portion has first and second walls adhered to each other to provide a compartment between them for receiving the stack of sheets. The sheets are retained in the compartment with their flat surfaces generally parallel to the first and second walls of the pocket. A dispensing opening is provided in one of the walls of the pocket overlying the flat surfaces of the sheets, and a primary seal for the opening prevents the undesirable evaporation of moisture from the sheets. The flap portion of the package extends from a wall of the pocket portion, and is removably securable over the dispensing opening to provide a secondary moisture-impervious seal after the primary seal has been broken.
