  • Publication number: 20050178107
Abstract: The invention provides a NOx adsorber aftertreatment system for internal combustion engines which utilizes a plasma fuel converter operatively coupled to at least one NOx adsorber to aid in the regeneration of the NOx adsorber. Fuel and engine exhaust is injected into a plasma fuel converter upstream of a NOx absorber producing reductant such as H2, and CO, which are inlet into the NOx absorber. Reductants such as H2 and CO acting along and together help to efficiently regenerate the NOx Adsorber which in turn releases exhausts products such as CO2 and N2. Using the reductants generated by the plasma fuel converter NOx adsorbers, catalytic soot filter, and the like can be regenerated at exhaust temperatures less than 250° C. The plasma fuel converter, NOx adsorber regenerating aftertreatment system of the present invention may be used with any suitable control system.

  • Publication number: 20050178110
Abstract: The invention provides a NOx adsorber aftertreatment system for internal combustion engines which utilizes at least one precat operatively coupled to at least one NOx adsorber to aid in the regeneration of the NOx adsorber. Fuel is injected into a precat located upstream of a NOx absorber producing heat, H2O, and reductants such as CO, HC, and volatile hydrocarbons, which are input into the NOx absorber. The combination of heat, water, and reductants help to efficiently regenerate the NOx Adsorber which in turn releases exhausts products such as CO2 and N2. Regeneration of a NOx adsorber can be performed during periods of reduced exhaust gas flow lowering the fuel penalty associated with NOx adsorber regeneration. The pre-cat, NOx adsorber regenerating aftertreatment system of the present invention may be used with any suitable control system.

  • Publication number: 20050152294
Abstract: A method and system for wireless pairing procedure through a wired interface. The wireless pairing system of the present invention comprises at least two wireless devices and a central controller. First, the wireless devices are connected to the central controller through a wired interface for pairing. The central controller then requests relevant information such as device address, device type, and connection mode of each wireless device. The central controller determines all possible pairs of peer entities according to the relevant information of the wireless devices, and generates a dedicated link key for each pair for successful pairing. Finally, the central controller writes the link key and the relevant information of the corresponding peer entity into each wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20050136349
Abstract: An electrophotographic imaging member having a charge generating layer and a charge transport layer overlayed thereon is provided. The charge transport layer has a lower surface and an upper surface, wherein the lower surface is in contiguous contact with the charge generating layer. The charge transport layer comprises a film forming polymer binder and a charge transport compound molecularly dispersed or dissolved therein to form a solid solution. The concentration of the charge transport compound in the charge transport layer decreases from the lower surface to the upper surface. In such a construction, the resulting charge transport layer exhibits enhanced cracking suppression, improved wear resistance, excellent imaging member electrical performance, and improved copy print out quality.

  • Publication number: 20050111878
Abstract: A belt loading apparatus has been provided for loading a flimsy continuous belt onto a belt support and drive assembly including a vertical front end having a first shape and without damage to the belt. The belt loading apparatus includes a wall member defining a sleeve including an outer surface having a total outer surface area, a first edge and a second and opposite edge. The second edge has a vertical profile having a second shape such that the second shape of the second edge is a mirror image of the first shape of the belt support and drive assembly. The belt loading apparatus then includes friction reducing members formed on the outer surface of the sleeve for temporarily supporting and spacing a flimsy continuous belt to be loaded onto the belt support and drive assembly. The friction reducing members each have a belt contact area such that a sum total of belt contact areas of all the friction reducing members is significantly less than the total outer surface area of the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5872717
Abstract: A method of improving the timing performance of a circuit includes the step of producing a first set of timing results from a static timing analyzer operating on a netlist that characterizes a circuit. A critical timing path within the circuit is then identified from the first set of timing results. The critical timing path is then converted into an equivalent schematic circuit representation. A simulation of the equivalent schematic circuit representation on a circuit simulator produces a second set of timing results. Timing discrepancies are then located between the first set of timing results and the second set of timing results. Based upon the timing discrepancies, cells are substituted into the critical timing path to improve the timing performance of the critical timing path.
