  • Patent number: 6250000
Abstract: A rotary driven poster, for use in advertising, informative ends and other uses that include at least a main body with presenting faces that contain the advertising or informative composition of visual reception. The poster is mounted to a support with the body connected to a device that drives it with a uniform circular movement. The poster further includes a rotation center of the main body. The rotation center is connected to the support and possesses a radial arm on which a motor-reducer is mounted. The motor-reducer has an axis that supports a wheel. A ring-shaped piece is fixed to the structure of the main body and in concentric disposition with the rotation axis whose radius is equivalent to that of the radial arm. The ring-shaped piece has the support track of the wheel. The wheel is also the rotary driving means of the main body by way of the support track.

  • Patent number: 6179857
Abstract: An embolic coil which may be placed at a preselected location within a vessel comprising a helically wound coil in which various combinations of adjacent turns are spot welded together to create a stretch resistant coil of a preselected flexibility.

  • Patent number: 6063100
Abstract: A medical device for placing an embolic coil at a preselected location within a vessel comprising a positioning catheter having a distal tip for retaining the embolic coil which when pressurized with a fluid expands outwardly to release the coil at the preselected position and in which a plurality of turns at the proximal portion of the embolic coil are spot welded to adjacent turns to prevent this proximal portion of the coil from elongating or stretching while also providing a coil which is very flexible.

  • Patent number: 5814065
Abstract: An apparatus for closing a wound in a vessel wall of a patient includes an elongated member having a proximal end portion and a distal end portion spaced from the proximal end portion in a longitudinal direction. First needle lumens extend in the elongated member between the proximal end portion and the distal end portion. A tip is disposed near the distal end portion of the elongated member and includes second needle lumen portions aligned with the first needle lumens. The tip is spaced apart from the elongated member in the longitudinal direction to form a recess between the tip and the elongated member for receiving the vessel wall.

  • Patent number: 5807350
Abstract: A catheter or catheter sheath introducer, for insertion into a vessel of a patient. The catheter has a rigid housing at its proximal end. The housing has an annular valve for access to the lumen of catheter. The catheter further includes a flexible tube for insertion into the patient. Lastly, the catheter has a resilient transition member intermediate and separating the housing and the tube. The member has a greater flexibility than the tube such that if the catheter is bent, after it is inserted into the patient, it will bend along the transition member where there is no substantial reduction of the cross-sectional area of the lumen adjacent the bend.

  • Patent number: 5690674
Abstract: An elastic, biodegradable plug has a proximal retainer and a distal retainer coupled by a waist. The plug may be positioned to straddle a wound in a blood vessel wall of a patient and therefore close the wound to stop bleeding through the wound. To position the plug in the wound, an operator may insert the plug into a sleeve extending through the vessel wall into the vessel and move the plug through the sleeve with a positioning tool. In the sleeve, the distal and proximal retainers of the plug are compressed. As the distal retainer of the plug exits the distal end of the sleeve into the vessel, the distal retainer expands in the vessel such that a surface of the distal retainer faces an inner side of the vessel wall. The positioning tool and the sleeve are then removed to position the waist in the wound of the vessel wall and allow the proximal retainer to expand such that a surface of the proximal retainer faces an outer side of the vessel wall.

  • Patent number: 4080299
Abstract: A coffee filter for coffee pots comprising a container, and a filtering element is disclosed. The container comprises a bottom surface having a plurality of openings and a lateral surface extending from the bottom surface around the periphery of the bottom surface. A plurality of axial ribs are connected to the inside of the lateral surface. The axial ribs are spaced equidistantly about the inside of the lateral surface. Each of these ribs has an inclined edge surface such that the surface defined by the inclined edges of the axial ribs is in the shape of an inverted truncated cone. The bottom edges of the axial ribs terminate in a supporting ramp which is a radial projection extending from the inclined edge of each axial rib. The filtering element is supported, and rests upon, the supporting ramp.
