  • Publication number: 20160245738
Abstract: The present invention refers to a procedure which includes the following objectives: a) To determine the morphology of the micro and nanocavities produced by chemical and/or microbiological corrosion in metallic materials, in the space of three dimensions as well as the effective advance of corrosion, the true length of corrosion cavities and their associated parameters: corrosion vectors, corrosion intensity and determination of the cavities diameter/true length of corrosion ratio, applying scanning electron microscopy (MEB) techniques, and analytic, gravimetric and volumetric formulations; b) To quantitatively determine the rate of chemical and/or microbiological corrosion in metallic materials, through their volumetric and gravimetric properties; and c) To obtain a graphic interface to access the numeric information and the micrographs in a simple and friendly manner.

  • Patent number: 9121808
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a procedure to quantitatively determine both, total and effective porosity of carbonated sedimentary rocks, and is based on the elaboration of molds of the rock pores-structure and on the determination of the volumetric and gravimetric properties of the rock and its mold. Determination of the effective porosity is achieved by using an original formula, developed by the authors of the present invention. Additionally, the structure of micro and nanopores in the rock is characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), to identify relevant properties for permeability analyzes such as: dimensions, shapes, type of connections, pore-structure patterns and pore throats. These and other parameters are used as indicators of the reservoir production and storage capacity.

  • Patent number: 8757741
Abstract: A door with a window for an appliance, such as a clothes dryer, and a method for assembling such a door in the appliance are provided. A tempered glass pane may be supported by one or more packaging structures disposed on borders of the glass pane. Each packaging structure may accommodate a retainer. The glass pane may be sandwiched between an inner frame and an outer frame coupled to one another to form a joined assembly effective to tightly seal the borders of the glass pane.

  • Publication number: 20140082136
Abstract: Method and system for transparent transfer of applications opened by an user in a first electronic device to a second electronic device, when the user changes from using the first device to using the second device. The state of each application to be transferred is obtained and sent to the second device through a communication server. The second device will restore the applications using the state data sent, no the applications will have in the second device the same running state and will be started in the same point as they were in the first device. It is not necessary that the first in the second device are connected to the communication network as the same time, i.e. the first device can be shut down after sending the data.

  • Patent number: 8401030
Abstract: Allocation of channels in a dedicated frequency spectrum on a secondary basis. A direct mode communication request (150) from a first wireless communication device (112) can be received and processed to determine whether there are one or more secondary communication channels over which direct mode communication may be implemented between the first wireless communication devices and other wireless communication devices (114, 116, 118) without violating at least one communication policy for the secondary communication channel. Use of a secondary communication channel can be assigned or denied. In addition, a direct mode communication request can be communicated from a wireless communication device to a base transceiver station (104) identifying one or more other communication devices for which direct mode communication is requested.

  • Publication number: 20120125595
Abstract: An exhaust duct for cooling an exhaust flue. One or more modular coolant coils are disposed about the outer circumference of or within the flue interior cavity for thermal communication with exhaust gas. Each coil has a helical spiral profile extending along the flue axial dimension, an interior lumen there through for passage of coolant provided by a cooling system, and a respective inlet and outlet for respective intake and discharge of coolant. Optionally at least one remotely adjustable valve is coupled to the coolant coil and an industrial automation controller, for regulation of coolant flow rate within the coil. The coolant coils may incorporate one or more coolant temperature sensors in communication with the controller. A plurality of exhaust duct cooling coils may be under common control of the controller, for allocation of coolant among the coils and other portions of the cooling system.
