Patent number: 9901222Abstract: A napkin assembly including an open ended chute for storing a stack of napkins therein and an openable and closeable front member relative to the open end of the chute is disclosed. The chute is made of first to fourth sidewall members and a rear member that are separately injection molded pieces that include a clip structure to allow the pieces to be clipped together to form the chute. Opposed ones of the sidewall members are identical pieces allowing them to be interchanged with one another during manufacture while still allowing the sidewall members to clip together to form the chute. The front member includes a transparent window to allow a depth of the stack to be viewed from the outside to check a product low condition. The front member includes locking tabs to lock it in a closed position relative to the chute. The tabs may be flexed through openings in the chute from the outside into a lock release position. The chute includes blocking members to prevent over inward deflection of the locking tabs.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2014Date of Patent: February 27, 2018Assignee: SCA HYGIENE PRODUCTS ABInventors: Rodney Wilson, Leo Gonzales, Justin Siebel

Patent number: 9554678Abstract: A dispenser including a rear housing member and a front housing member that are connected by way of a first hinge so that the front housing member is openable relative to the rear housing member in order to fill a space defined by the front housing member and the rear housing member with at least one stack of sheet products. The front housing member and the rear housing member also include components for forming a second hinge. The first hinge allows the front housing member to open from a first side of the rear housing member in a first rotational direction, and the second hinge, when formed, allows the front housing member to rotate in an opposite direction from an opposite side of the rear housing member.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 2012Date of Patent: January 31, 2017Assignee: SCA HYGIENE PRODUCTS ABInventor: Rodney Wilson

Patent number: 9499369Abstract: A braking assembly used in a dispenser that dispenses a continuous supply of material such as paper. The braking assembly includes a support structure. A first fixed gear is rotatably connected to the support structure. A movable chassis is also connected to the support structure. A second movable gear is held by the chassis and moves with the chassis. Teeth of the first gear and teeth of the second gear intermesh with each other and allow the paper to pass therethrough. The chassis maintains the teeth of the first and second gears in contact with each other while enabling a distance between gears to be adjustable. The assembly further includes a braking mechanism that varies an amount of force required to rotate the gears.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 2013Date of Patent: November 22, 2016Assignee: SCA TISSUE NORTH AMERICA LLCInventors: Craig Billman, Jeffrey J. Brickl, Wayne Hansen, Edward A. Raleigh, Rodney Wilson, John W. Grosz

Publication number: 20150014344Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing a stack of napkins is of a gravity feed kind and includes a base upon which the dispenser is to stand and a dispensing opening at a bottom of a stack housing portion of the dispenser so that the napkins are fed to the dispensing opening along a slide member. The slide member defines a steep, planar upper surface for guiding the stack of napkins, and a less steep, curved lower sliding surface forming a turn in the slide toward the dispensing opening. The lower sliding surface is formed by a plurality of spaced runners separated by recesses. The stack is held by first and second compression members against a bottom part of the steep portion of the sliding surface to take the weight of the upper part of the stack from the part of the stack sliding on the lower curved surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 2, 2012Publication date: January 15, 2015Applicant: SCA HYGIENE PRODUCTS ABInventors: John S. Publication number: 20110067545Abstract: A mandolin includes a food deck having an adjustable first food deck and a fixed second food deck. A slide selectively engages food products as they are moved along the food deck. A parallel cutting blade is positioned between the first food deck and the second food deck, wherein the parallel cutting blade cuts food product along a plane which is substantially parallel to a plane in which an upper surface of the second food deck lies. A plurality of elongated perpendicular cutting blades mounted along the first food deck for engagement with food product prior to engagement of the food product with the parallel cutting blade, the elongated cutting blades being oriented to longitudinally extend along an axis substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the food deck and to cut the food product in a plane which is substantially perpendicular to the plane in which the upper surface of the first food deck lies and which extends substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the food deck.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 18, 2009Publication date: March 24, 2011Inventor: Rodney Wilson Robbins
