  • Patent number: 5426830
Abstract: A method of assembling a multi-part plastic slider as a unit with a plastic reclosable fastener on plastic-film bags is disclosed. The multi-part plastic slider includes a support member with a separator finger depending therefrom and two sidewalls joined to the support members by sliding joints on the opposite edges of the support member so that the support member and sidewalls may be partially assembled into a unit which unit is then assembled with the zipper by sliding movement of the sidewalls axially on the sliding joints on the opposite edges of the support member to bring the slider into fully assembled condition.

  • Patent number: 5405478
Abstract: Plastic-film zipper bags having tubular plastic end stops bonded to the plastic zipper to seal the ends of the zipper and to provide stops to retain a slider on the zipper are disclosed. Also disclosed is a method of installing the tubular plastic end stops on the zipper.

  • Patent number: 5370079
Abstract: A container for transporting laboratory-type animals comprises a base and a lid, wherein the base and the lid when assembled define a volume for receiving one or more laboratory animals therewithin. The base includes a flange for contacting the lid, wherein the lid is removably attached to the flange of the base with removable stitching.

  • Patent number: 5301395
Abstract: A plastic reclosable fastener with slider for opening and closing the reclosable fastener on plastic-film bags and the like is disclosed. The plastic reclosable fastener and slider include a provision for restraining the slider in closed position and thereby maintaining the male and female elements of the fastener in interlocking relation to avoid inadvertent opening of the elements of the fastener when the slider reaches the fully closed position at the end of its travel along the fastener. The ends of the flanges of the fastener that are created by the slider-restraining notch are provided with diverging structure to facilitate re-entry of the slider separator structure between the flanges when the slider is moved toward the opposite end of the fastener to open the male and female elements of the fastener.

  • Patent number: 5301394
Abstract: A plastic reclosable fastener or zipper with slider detent lock for locking the slider in closed position on plastic-film bags and the like is disclosed. The slider includes two spring-loaded detent elements located on opposite sides of the separator finger on the slider. When the slider is at any location other than the fully closed position at the end of the fastener, the spring-loaded detent elements ride against the outside surfaces of the flanges by which the separator finger opens the fastener. When the slider reaches the location at the end of the fastener where portions of the flanges have been removed to provide a notch, the spring-loaded detent elements spring inward against the sides of the separator finger. There they resist an attempt to move the slider in an opening direction because this requires that they be forced outward over the flanges of the zipper.

  • Patent number: 5283932
Abstract: A flexible plastic slider having sidewalls normally diverging outwardly and spaced apart a distance adequate for transverse installation of the slider over the profiled elements of a zipper with rigidizing structure on the slider to move the sidewalls into and retain them in an assembled position on the zipper to prevent the slider from being lifted off the zipper.

  • Patent number: 4325679
Abstract: A hermetic refrigeration compressor has a two-stage oil pump in the vertically aligned crankshaft that is journaled in a combination thrust and radial bearing at the bottom of the crankshaft. The oil passes upward through an axial passage in the crankshaft and then outward through a radial passage which comprises the first stage of the pump. The oil then passes through a wide and shallow groove around most of the periphery of the crankshaft and is then returned through a second radial passage to another vertical passage offset from the axis of the crankshaft to move the oil upward to lubricate the various moving parts of the compressor.

  • Patent number: 3945286
Abstract: A radial arm saw features light weight, portability and simplicity of construction. A standard supports a one-piece radial arm that comprises a pair of horizontal, vertically spaced cantilever rails rigidly joined at their outer ends by an integral connecting member. A sliding runner spans the rails and has vertically spaced bearing parts receiving corresponding rails. A vertical spindle on the runner is connected at its lower end to the top of a cage that receives a conventional portable circular saw, thereby suspending the saw unit beneath the rails and above the work surface. The spindle permits the cage to be rotated for either cross-cut or ripping operations, and the radial arm is adjustable in a horizontal plane by a special detent arrangement on the standard that allows the elevation of the saw unit to be varied in any selected radial position.
