  • Publication number: 20200147326
Abstract: The invention provides a dosing system for an inhalation device, comprising a filling chamber (10); a reservoir chamber (31) which supplies liquid (3) to an aerosol generator (301); and a plunger (20) which includes an overflow chamber (25) and which is pivotable about a hinge (50). The filling chamber has an inner wall (12) which is higher on the side adjacent to the hinge than on the opposite side. When the filling chamber is filled with liquid and the plunger is pivoted into the filling chamber, part of the liquid is displaced over the lower side (17) of the inner wall into the reservoir chamber and some or all of the remaining liquid is displaced into the overflow chamber. The invention also provides an inhalation device comprising the dosing system and a method for dosing liquid to the inhalation device.

  • Publication number: 20200141368
Abstract: Vapors in the fuel tank of a vehicle are collected in a carbon canister. An ejector or aspirator is used to purge the carbon canister in a pressure-charged engine in which a positive pressure exists in the intake. A compact ejector includes a substantially planar flange and a venturi tube coupled to the flange with a central axis of the venturi tube substantially parallel to the flange. By manufacturing the ejector in two pieces, dimensions within the ejector: throat, converging section, and diverging section, is more accurate than prior art manufacturing techniques thereby providing better flow characteristics throughout the boost range. By forming one of the two pieces of the ejector integrally with the air intake component in which it is coupled, decreases part count and the number of manufacturing processes.

  • Publication number: 20200124559
Abstract: A method of analyzing a molecule is disclosed. A voltage source is selectively connected to or disconnected from a capacitor using a switch controlled by a reset signal. A charge is stored in a capacitor when the voltage source is connected to the capacitor. The capacitor is discharged through a nanopore in a membrane when the voltage source is disconnected from the capacitor. A duty cycle of the reset signal is determined such that the voltage source and the capacitor is connected for at least a one tenth portion of a reset signal period and disconnected for a remaining portion of the reset signal period, such that a voltage across the nanopore is maintained at a higher level during the portion of the reset signal period in which the connection is maintained than during the remaining portion of the reset signal period in which the connection is not maintained.

  • Patent number: 10616683
Abstract: This application relates to methods and apparatus for loudspeaker protection. A loudspeaker protection system receives a digital audio signal comprising a plurality of samples at an input node. A delay block delays the digital audio signal and a gain block applies a controlled gain to the delayed digital audio signal. An excursion predictor is configured to receive a version of the audio signal from the signal path upstream of the delay block and determine a predicted excursion for a loudspeaker based on the audio signal. A gain controller controls a gain setting of the gain block in response to the predicted excursion and a first loudspeaker impulse response model and a predetermined excursion limit. The gain controller is configured to determine at least one gain setting {ga gi} to be applied to a set of samples {Va . . .

  • Patent number: 10603056
Abstract: Patient specific implant technology, in which an outline representation of a portion of an outer surface of a periphery of a bone volume is determined and the outline representation is used in operations related to implant matching. In addition, an instrument may be made to match a perimeter shape of a Patient Specific Knee Implant with features for locating holes in a distal femur such that posts or lugs in a femoral implant locate the femoral implant centered medial-laterally within an acceptable degree of precision to prevent overhang of either the side of the femoral implant over the perimeter of the distal femur bone resections. Further, a two-dimensional outline representation may be segmented into segments that correspond to resection cuts used in fitting an implant on a portion of a bone and operations related to implant matching may be performed based on the segments.

  • Publication number: 20200010847
Abstract: Compositions, systems and methods are provided for conferring disease resistance to plant pathogens that use proteases to target plant substrate proteins inside plant cells. Briefly, the compositions, systems and methods are based upon plant substrate proteins that are targeted by pathogen-specific proteases and that activate nucleotide binding site-leucine rich repeat (NB-LRR) disease resistance proteins when cleaved by the protease. These substrate proteins are modified such that the endogenous protease recognition sequence is replaced by a protease recognition sequence specific to a different pathogen protease (i.e., a heterologous protease recognition sequence). The modified plant substrate protein therefore can be used in connection with its corresponding NB-LRR protein to activate resistance in response to cleavage by the heterologous pathogen-specific protease. When activated by the plant pathogen-specific protease, the pair initiates host defense responses thereto, including programmed cell death.

  • Publication number: 20200004636
Abstract: A data storage system can connect a plurality of remote hosts to a plurality of die sets resident in a semiconductor memory. Execution of at least one data access command addressed by a remote host of the plurality of remote hosts can occur prior to a power interruption event being detected for at least one die set of the plurality of die sets. • Publication number: 20200004450
Abstract: Apparatus and method for managing metadata in a data storage device, such as a solid-state drive (SSD). In some embodiments, a non-volatile memory (NVM) includes a population of semiconductor memory dies. The dies are connected a number of parallel channels such that less than all of the semiconductor dies are connected to each channel. A controller circuit apportions the semiconductor memory dies into a plurality of die sets, with each die set configured to store user data blocks associated with a different user. The controller circuit subsequently rearranges the dies into a different arrangement of die sets so that at least one die is migrated from a first dies set to a second die set. A map manager circuit is configured to establish an array of pointers in a memory to identify contiguous portions of map metadtata that describe user data stored in the at least one migrated die.

  • Patent number: 10524299
Abstract: In some cases, a provisioned electronic device may receive a request for configuration information from an unprovisioned device. In response, the provisioned device may determine configuration information to send to the unprovisioned device based at least in part on the contents of the request. Examples of configuration information may include network credentials for connecting to a wireless local area network, a registration token that identifies the unprovisioned device to a fulfillment service, and user preferences associated with a user of the provisioned device. Further, the provisioned device may send the configuration information to the unprovisioned device. Upon receipt of the configuration information, the unprovisioned device may utilize the configuration information to order products from the fulfillment service. In some instances, the provisioned device may obtain the configuration information from the fulfillment service.
