  • Patent number: 10756951
Abstract: Techniques for use in network incident identification are described. In response to an occurrence of an unknown network incident, a plurality of log messages (e.g. syslog messages) are received from a plurality of network components in one or more networks. In one illustrative example, a plurality of relationships between interfaces and events are derived from the received log messages and characterized as a plurality of graphical component relationships. One or more groups of connected components are determined from the graphical component relationships and network component connection data which indicate interface relationships of the network components. Here, groups of connected components may be logically joined based on the network component connection data indicating one or more interface relationships.

  • Patent number: 10753863
Abstract: Spectroscopic chemical analysis methods and apparatus are disclosed which employ deep ultraviolet (e.g. in the 200 nm to 300 nm spectral range) electron beam pumped wide bandgap semiconductor lasers, incoherent wide bandgap semiconductor light emitting devices, and hollow cathode metal ion lasers to perform non-contact, non-invasive detection of unknown chemical analytes. These deep ultraviolet sources enable dramatic size, weight and power consumption reductions of chemical analysis instruments. In some embodiments, Raman spectroscopic detection methods and apparatus use ultra-narrow-band angle tuning filters, acousto-optic tuning filters, and temperature tuned filters to enable ultra-miniature analyzers for chemical identification. In some embodiments Raman analysis is conducted along with photoluminescence spectroscopy (i.e. fluorescence and/or phosphorescence spectroscopy) to provide high levels of sensitivity and specificity in the same instrument.

  • Patent number: 10754735
Abstract: Distributed storage reservation for distributed data recovery is described. A system identifies a total number of connected computers, a storage capacity of each connected computer, and a maximum storage capacity of the identified storage capacities of the connected computers. The system determines a reserved storage capacity based on the maximum storage capacity and a reduced total number of the connected computers. The system provisions the reserved storage capacity in each connected computer. The system stores replicas of a database on the connected computers and on multiple computers, the multiple computers being the same as or different than the connected computers. The system identifies that a connected computer storing a replica of the database is unavailable. The system restores a replica of the database from at least one computer storing one replica to the reserved storage capacity in each of multiple available connected computers.

  • Publication number: 20200265113
Abstract: Techniques for transforming digital text content using expressions are described. According to various implementations, a text editor system determines that digital text content of a digital document is modified via application of a particular style that differs from other digital text content of the digital document. The text editor system identifies a pattern characteristic to the modified digital text content, and generates a digital expression that identifies the pattern, and generates a style expression that combines the digital expression with a digital style that represents style attributes descriptive of the style modification applied to the modified text content. The text editor system applies the style expression to search digital text content, identify matching digital text content that matches the digital expression, and transform the matching digital text content by applying the digital style to modify the matching digital text content.

  • Publication number: 20200265351
Abstract: A system and process for simulating providing access to data that has been locked in a series of secured, sequential blocks. A listening station monitors data and signals the passage of structured transaction data, which is aggregated for the unpackaging of structured transaction information into discrete component information. The present invention makes available component information as unlocked, queued data distributed throughout a network of computing entities. The queued data is an emulation of the structured transaction information as would be found locked in any of the secured blocks, present and prior.

  • Publication number: 20200265182
Abstract: Digital content design system techniques are described using baseline units to control arrangement and sizing of digital content. In one example, a digital content design system receives a user input specifying a number of baselines to be included within an available display area of a page. Baselines are used to align digital content to control arrangement of the digital content within the page, e.g., text. From this, the digital content design system then calculates a baseline unit from a distance used to space adjacent baselines of the number of baselines from each other. This baseline unit is then leveraged by the system as a fundamental unit of measure to control arrangement and/or sizing of digital content in relation to each other.

  • Patent number: 10747659
Abstract: The present disclosure, in various embodiments, describes technologies and techniques for use by a memory controller or similar device for storing sequential image data or other data streams composed of pages of data. In one example, the memory controller compares data within current and previous image frames on a page-by-page basis. If a pair of pages match, the memory controller creates a link between the two pages so the duplicate page need not be stored. During a subsequent read operation, the flash controller accesses stored links to identify the physical storage addresses of any matching pages stored in connection with a previous frame to permit efficient retrieval. In some examples, a page is compared with both the previous corresponding page and with the neighboring pages of that previous page. Exemplary read, write and erase operations are described herein using the links.

  • Patent number: 10747498
Abstract: An electronic device can implement a zero-latency digital assistant by capturing audio input from a microphone and using a first processor to write audio data representing the captured audio input to a memory buffer. In response to detecting a user input while capturing the audio input, the device can determine whether the user input meets a predetermined criteria. If the user input meets the criteria, the device can use a second processor to identify and execute a task based on at least a portion of the contents of the memory buffer.

  • Patent number: 10749720
Abstract: A receiver receives communications over a communication channel, which may distort an incoming communication signal. In order to counter this distortion, the frequency response of the receiver is manipulated by adjusting several frequency response parameters. Each frequency response parameter controls at least a portion of the frequency response of the receiver. The optimal values for the frequency response parameters are determined by modifying an initial set of values for the frequency response parameters through one or more of stochastic hill climbing operations until a performance metric associated with the receiver reaches a local maximum. The modified values are displaced through one or more mutation operations. The stochastic hill climbing operations may subsequently be performed on the mutated values to generate the final values for the frequency response parameters.
