  • Patent number: 9619699
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and a system for enhancing accuracy of human counting in at least one frame of a captured image in a real-time in a predefined area. The present invention detects human in one or more frames by using at least one human detection modality for obtaining the characteristic result of the captured image. The invention further calculates an activity probability associated with each human detection modality. The characteristic results and the activity probability are selectively integrated by using a fusion technique for enhancing the accuracy of the human count and for selecting the most accurate human detection modality. The human is then performed based on the selection of the most accurate human detection modality.

  • Publication number: 20170095926
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for selectively deploying robots to performing mapping based on added cost. In various implementations, a measure of interest in mapping an area of an environment may be determined. A cost associated with a robot performing a task may also be determined. Then, an added cost associated with the robot mapping the area of the environment while performing the task may be determined. The robot may be selectively deployed to map the area while performing the task in response to a determination that the measure of interest justifies the added cost.

  • Patent number: 9614554
Abstract: An approach for improved compensation for nonlinear distortion in multicarrier satellite systems is provided. Source reflecting encoded and modulated sequences of source data symbols are received. Each source signal is predistorted, and a transmit filter is applied to each predistorted source signal. Each filtered signal is translated to a carrier frequency, and the translated signals are combined into a composite signal for transmission via a multicarrier transponder. The final predistorted version of each source signal is generated via an iterative process of a number of stages, wherein, for a given stage and for each source signal, the process comprises: receiving a prior predistorted version of each source signal from a preceding stage; processing each prior predistorted source signal based on all of the received prior predistorted source signals, wherein the processing is performed based on a characterization of one or more characteristics of the multicarrier satellite transponder.

  • Patent number: 9614707
Abstract: In generating a data unit for transmission via a communication channel, a preamble of the data unit is generated, including i) generating a set of training fields, and ii) mapping each training field in the set of training fields to a plurality of space-time streams. When the set of training fields consist of four training fields, each training field in the set of training fields is mapped to four space-time streams according to a first space-time stream mapping matrix. When the set of training fields consists of six training fields, each training field in the set of training fields is mapped to six space-time streams according to a second space-time stream mapping matrix, wherein the first space-time stream mapping matrix is not a submatrix of the second space-time stream mapping matrix. A data portion of the data unit is generated so that a receiver device can receive the data portion via a corresponding number of space-time streams using channel information derived from the set of training fields.

  • Patent number: 9606605
Abstract: In an embodiment, an integrated circuit includes multiple instances of a component (e.g. a processor) and a control circuit. The instances may be configured to operate in various modes. Some of the modes are incapable of presenting a worst-case load on the power supply. The control circuit may be configured to monitor the instances and detect the modes in which the instances are operating. Based on the monitoring, the control circuit may request to recover a portion of the voltage margin established for worst-case conditions in the instances. If the instances are to change modes, they may be configured to request mode change from the control circuit. If the mode change causes an increase in the current supply voltage magnitude (e.g. to restore some of the recovered voltage margin), the control circuit may cause the restore and permit it to complete prior to granting the mode change.

  • Patent number: 9602739
Abstract: An image capture and processing system accesses an image including image data. The image processing system receives a selection of a preset configuration. The preset configuration identifies first and second image effects, a first intensity value corresponding to the first image effect, and a second intensity value corresponding to the second image effect. The image processing system accesses a set of stored lookup tables (LUTs). Each accessed LUT in the set of stored LUTs is associated with the first and second image effects, and is associated with intensity values within a threshold proximity of the first and second intensity values. The image processing system generates a combined LUT by interpolating the accessed set of stored LUTs. The image processing system processes the image based on the combined LUT.

  • Patent number: 9598651
Abstract: An integrated process for producing naphtha fuel, diesel fuel and/or lubricant base oils from feedstocks under sour conditions is provided. The ability to process feedstocks under higher sulfur and/or nitrogen conditions allows for reduced cost processing and increases the flexibility in selecting a suitable feedstock. The sour feed can be delivered to a catalytic dewaxing step without any separation of sulfur and nitrogen contaminants. The integrated process includes an initial dewaxing of a feed under sour conditions, optional hydrocracking of the dewaxed feed, and a separation to form a first diesel product and a bottoms fraction. The bottoms fraction is then exposed to additional hydrocracking and dewaxing to form a second diesel product and optionally a lubricant base oil product. Alternatively, a feedstock can be hydrotreated, fractionated, dewaxed, and then hydrocracked to form a diesel fuel and a dewaxed, hydrocracked bottoms fraction that is optionally suitable for use as a lubricant base oil.
