  • Patent number: 8976908
Abstract: A system including a receiver to receive, over a wireless channel, a packet including a preamble portion that includes a plurality of training fields and a first signal field and a controller to generate a first estimate of the wireless channel based on one or more of the plurality of training fields, and decode the first signal field based on the first estimate. Subsequent to decoding the first signal field, the controller re-encodes the first signal field to generate a second signal field. The controller verifies whether the first signal field was properly decoded by comparing the second signal field to the first signal field prior to being decoded. In response to the first signal field being correctly decoded, the controller generates a second estimate of the wireless channel based on the first signal field as decoded. The second estimate is usable to refine the first estimate.

  • Publication number: 20150066942
Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with a unit of work for incremental data processing are described. In one embodiment, a method includes selecting a unit of work key for a program that processes records in a source table. The unit of work key is selected such that modifications to a record having a certain unit of work key value will not affect the program's processing of records having a different unit of work key value. The selected unit of work key is associated with the program. When a record in the source table is created, modified, or deleted, a unit of work key value is identified for the record and a selected set of records having the identified unit of work key value is provided to the program. Thus, records in the data source that do not have the identified unit of work key values are not provided to the program.

  • Publication number: 20150063374
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for formatting a compressed data packet. The methods and apparatus include identifying a first data string within a data packet that was previously stored at a first memory location in a compressor memory, and generating a first pointer that references the first memory location in the compressor memory. Further, these aspects optionally include identifying a second data string within the data packet that was not previously stored in the compressor memory. Additionally, these aspects include creating a compressed data packet by replacing the first data string with the first pointer and copying the second data string, and including an indicator corresponding to a number of pointers in the data packet.

  • Publication number: 20150067410
Abstract: The present subject matter discloses a method for predicting failure of hardware components. The method comprises obtaining a syslog file stored in a Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), where the syslog file includes at least one or more syslog messages. Further, the method comprises categorizing each of the one or more syslog messages into one or more groups based on a hardware component generating the syslog message. Further, a current dataset comprising one or more records based on the categorization is generated, where each of the one or more records include a syslog message from amongst the one or more syslog messages. The method further comprises analysing the current dataset for identifying at least one error pattern of syslog messages, based on a plurality of error patterns of reference syslog messages, for predicting failure of the hardware components.

  • Publication number: 20150065055
Abstract: The various aspects provide for wirelessly connecting mobile devices and wearable devices, which may enhance battery life and user experience. The embodiments may determine whether the mobile device is streaming audio data to a wirelessly connected peripheral audio device. Requests from the mobile device to wirelessly connect to the wearable device may be deferred while the mobile device is streaming audio data to the peripheral audio device using the same communication protocol as the wireless connection to be made between the mobile device and the wearable device. The mobile device may determine when streaming of audio data to the peripheral audio device has stopped. The mobile device may send a request to wirelessly connect to the wearable device when the mobile device is not streaming audio data to the peripheral audio device using the same communication protocol.

  • Publication number: 20150067275
Abstract: A single-port memory that operates in single-cycle dual-port mode has a logical capacity of N=k·m memory words and (k+1) single-port RAM having an overall physical capacity of (k+1)·m memory words. A status register holds words identifying which RAM bank has the last data at the ith address in the RAM banks and defining k status words for valid data among the (k+1) RAM banks. Write data is written to the write address of a valid RAM bank for a write operation in the absence of RAM bank read address contention. Write data is written to the write address of a different RAM bank that has no valid data for a write operation if there is contention with the RAM bank read address RADDR of a read operation. The status register is updated to identify the RAM bank of the write operation.

  • Patent number: 8971457
Abstract: Systems and methods for removing a DC offset from an orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) signal transmitted over a plurality of subcarrier frequencies. The system includes a receiver. The system further includes a high pass DC component filter configured to reduce a DC component of the orthogonal frequency division multiplexed signal, the high pass DC component filter shaping noise in the orthogonal frequency division multiplexed signal which results in a non-uniform power spectral density of the noise across the plurality of subcarrier frequencies. The system further includes a noise whitener configured to compensate for the noise shaping by the high pass DC component filter by normalizing the non-uniform power spectral density of the noise across the plurality of subcarrier frequencies.

  • Patent number: 8972802
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for providing high availability to a hybrid application server environment containing non-Java® containers. Each hybrid application server in the cluster includes a Java® container and a non-Java® container hosting Java® and non-Java® applications, respectively. Upon detecting the non-Java® container becoming unavailable (failing), an object, such as an MBean, identifies and deactivates those Java® application(s) that are dependent on the non-Java® application(s) deployed in the unavailable non-Java® container using dependency information stored in an application framework. The deactivated Java® application(s) are marked as being unavailable. A routing agent continues to send requests to those Java® application(s) that are not marked as being unavailable within that hybrid application server containing the unavailable non-Java® container.

  • Patent number: 8971178
Abstract: A transmitter beamforming technique for use in a MIMO wireless communication system determines (i) a partial description of a reverse channel without determining a full dimensional description of the reverse channel and (ii) a partial description of a forward channel without determining a full dimensional description of the forward channel. A correction matrix is developed from the partial description of the reverse channel and a partial description of the forward channel. The correction matrix is used to process signals to be transmitted via the forward channel, and a steering matrix is used to perform beamforming in the forward channel.

  • Publication number: 20150053347
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are directed to controlling CD uniformity of a wafer by controlling trim time on temperature in a plasma processing system. The plasma processing system has a wafer support assembly including a plurality of independently controllable temperature control zones across a chuck and a controller that controls each temperature control zone. The controller receives process control and temperature data associated with at least one wafer previously processed in a plasma chamber of the plasma processing system. The controller also receives critical device parameters of a current wafer to be processed in the plasma chamber. The controller calculates a target trim time and a target temperature profile of the current wafer based on the process control and temperature data of the at least one previously processed wafers and the critical device parameters of the current wafer.
