  • Patent number: 7765828
Abstract: A refrigerator includes a freezer compartment provided with an automatic icemaker incorporating a mold configured to produce truncated, crescent-shaped ice cubes. With this arrangement, the icemaker produces cubes that are shorter than full, standard crescent-shaped cubes. The reduced mold size advantageously enables the icemaker to take less space in a freezer compartment, without a significant reduction in ice cube volume.

  • Patent number: 7603736
Abstract: A system is provided for aligning a first passenger boarding bridge tunnel section with a first doorway of an aircraft and for aligning a second passenger boarding bridge tunnel section with a second doorway of the aircraft includes. The system includes a sensor for sensing an orientation of a first passenger boarding bridge tunnel section when it is in an aligned condition with a first doorway of the aircraft, and for sensing an orientation of a second passenger boarding bridge tunnel section when it is in other than an aligned condition with the second doorway of the aircraft. The sensor is in communication with a controller. The controller is for receiving a signal from the sensor, and for determining the orientation of the first passenger boarding bridge tunnel section and the orientation of the second passenger boarding bridge tunnel section in dependence upon the signal.

  • Publication number: 20090248098
Abstract: A device for stimulation via special electric and magnetic fields and optimized field applicators is provided. Derived from human physiology, the autonomic/vegetative nervous system, specifically its sympathetic and parasympathetic components, can be controlled by signals in the frequency ranges of 0.05 to 0.15 Hz and of 0.15 to 0.30 Hz, respectively. Along with other components, these constitute integral parts of corresponding modular physical cardiovascular stimulation programs. By addition of characteristic sinusoidal oscillations, including a positive or negative electric field between the head area and a peripheral area of a human or animal, with the corresponding low-frequency sympathetic or parasympathetic control frequency as base oscillation and with application-typical EEG frequencies and higher-frequency sinusoidal oscillations in the range of ca. 250 to 1500 Hz, characteristic stimulation programs can be established in modular configuration.

  • Publication number: 20090139636
Abstract: A winding machine for electrical coils to be wound into layers has a device which supplies a material to the coil to be wound in order to separate adjacent layers of the coil from one another. The device has a device for producing a predetermined breaking point in the material, and a measuring unit. The measuring unit determines when the device for producing a predetermined breaking point is to be activated in order to produce a predetermined breaking point in the material. The device also has a guide device which fixes the material on the coil to be wound in the vicinity of the predetermined breaking point at a predetermined time, in order to sever the material at the predetermined breaking point. The winding machine therefore anticipates when a layer change is required, in order to then produce a predetermined breaking point in the material at a distance from the coil.

  • Patent number: 7495580
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for finding a parked vehicle again. According to the invention, a portable unit is provided with a pressure sensor whose signals can be evaluated by an evaluation and control unit in order to determine the current air pressure, with the evaluation and control unit evaluating the determined air pressure in order to determine altitude, and storing a first air pressure value as a reference value at a predeterminable first time, which reference value represents an instantaneous altitude of a geographic position of the parked vehicle, with the evaluation and control unit estimating a height difference between a current geographic position of the portable unit and the geographic position of the parked vehicle at a second time, and/or continuously from a pressure difference between the determined current air pressure value and the reference value.
