  • Patent number: 5943740
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for forming a sliver with a first regulated drafting arrangement (10) with several pairs of rollers (11, 12, 14) for the regulated drafting of the fibre mass (8) supplied to the drafting arrangement, with the fibre fleece (28) delivered by the drafting arrangement being joined and supplied to a measuring member (32) from where the measured fibre material is thereafter supplied to a second drafting arrangement (40) and with the autoleveller device (35, 52, 21) of the first drafting arrangement (10) intervening in a regulating manner in the drive of the first drafting arrangement (40) in order to compensate fluctuations in mass on the basis of the signals issued by the measuring member (32) by including a predetermined setpoint value.Various regulating and control devices are known in practice in order to obtain a high-quality sliver.

  • Patent number: 5478222
Abstract: A pump of compact design, which is hermetically sealed to the outside and has no shaft lead-outs to the outside, includes a housing with an internal partition dividing the inside of the housing into a drive section and a pump section. A single shaft, which is supported in the partition, carries on one side the rotor of an electric drive motor and on the other side the impeller of the pump. In the cavity of the drive section, a gas pressure is generated which assists in preventing the pumping material from passing into the drive section.

  • Patent number: 5334964
Abstract: A device having cores of metal oxide ceramic (for example, Y-Ba-Cu-O) for limiting a short circuit current in power supply systems. The concept provides that a choke core, when operated at a rated current, is superconductive and its shielding currents keep the resulting inductance in the choke at a low level. In the event of an overload, the winding of the choke generates a correspondingly high magnetic field in the core which puts the core into the normally conducting state. This causes the shielding currents to disappear in connection with a rise in the resulting inductance, thus limiting the current. In order to realize a particularly high inductance in the normally conductive case, the superconductive choke core may be made hollow and may be filled at least in part with a ferromagnetic material.

  • Patent number: 5023976
Abstract: The invention relates to a feed table for feeding slivers by way of a conveyor to a textile processing machine. The slivers are drawn off from associated spinning cans by way of draw-off devices and placed on the conveyor. In the event of a sliver running out or breaking, reserve slivers are fed in automatically by way of draw-off devices specifically devised for this purpose. The conveyor comprises individual conveyor belts associated with each sliver and each reserve sliver and have a draw-off devices, each conveyor belt being drivable by way of a controllable drive, the conveyor belts being a part of the draw-off devices.

  • Patent number: 4806752
Abstract: An incremental or absolute rotation encoder with a clamping device for connecting the encoder shaft to the drive shaft of a drive unit by means of a radial clamping action. A clamping element with a first sliding surface which is inclined relative to the axis of the encoder shaft is provided resting against a corresponding second inclined sliding surface at the end of the encoder shaft facing the connection with the drive shaft. An actuating element is capable of acting on the clamping element in axial direction. Since the two inclined surfaces rest slidingly on each other, the clamping element and the end of the encoder shaft are pressed in opposite radial directions against the drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 4759458
Abstract: In order to prevent back spraying of fuel after switching-off of a fuel filler nozzle an expansion space is provided at the fuel tank filler neck in the area of the inserted fuel filler tube, expansion space is formed by a widening of the cross-section of the filler tube. The expansion space widens approximately starting from a free end of the fuel filler tube when in the fuel filling position, in upward direction, in a funnel shape and subsequently is returned to the cross-section of the filling collar supporting the filler tube.
