  • Patent number: 4884002
Abstract: Armature (4) is driven by piezo-electric vibration elements (1) which are made to resonate by means of high-frequency electrical oscillations in order to produce ultrasonic vibrations which are transmitted to a plurality of drive pins (2) arranged as brushes a friction surface (6) of the armature (4) is pressed against free ends (5) a of the pins, the individual drive pins bein disposed at an angle .alpha. relative to the perpendicular to the contact portion of the friction surface (6). The angle of inclination .alpha. is then substantially equal to the static-friction angle or is slightly larger than this static-friction angle between the drive pins and the friction surface. Suitably, the angle of inclination is selected to be between 10.degree. and 30.degree..

  • Patent number: 4879963
Abstract: A sport fishing seat for fishing boats is provided with a saddle seat and a foot pedal assembly. In one version the foot pedal assembly pivots of the seat support which enables a fisherman to utilize the leg muscles while reeling in a game fish. The foot pedal assembly in that version includes a tubular post which receives the butt end of the fishing rod while at the lower end thereof the pedal portion may be engaged by the feet of the fisherman. This assembly is pivotally mounted on a bracket means extending laterally outward from underneath the seat proper and this enables the fisherman to utilize his leg muscles to greater advantage in playing and landing a game fish. In all saddle seat versions the fisherman has his legs on either side of the saddle seat and is a convenient arrangement for small boats, little space being taken up by the seat and pedestal.

  • Patent number: 4878758
Abstract: The instant invention relates to a process for the blending of bulk materials by means of a jet gas blender, whereby the blending porcess is initiated only when full gas pressure is reached and when the valve immediately upstream of the storage tank (3) has been closed. At the end of the set time period "t.sub.1 " the valve (4) leading to the blending container (6) is closed in effect simultaneously and the valve (4.1) leading to the storage tank (3) is reopened, whereby the blended material settles in the blending container (6) without being disturbed by turbulence in this control position and whereby this phase is maintained for a set period of time.Only at the end of that period of time is the line cross-section leading to the filter (8) opened to allow exhaust air to go through, and its passage is thereby adjusted so that the quantity of exhaust air going through the filter remains approximately constant per time unit.

  • Patent number: 4879170
Abstract: Nonwoven fibrous elastomeric web material, including absorbent webs and fabric web material, and methods of forming the same, are disclosed. The elastomeric web material is a hydraulically entangled coform or admixture of (1) meltblown fibers, such as elastic meltblown fibers and (2) pulp fibers and/or staple fibers and/or meltblown fibers and/or continuous filaments, with or without particulate material; such coform can be hydraulically entangled by itself or with other materials, including, e.g., super absorbent particulate material. The use of meltblown fibers facilitates the hydraulic entangling, resulting in a high degree of entanglement and enabling the use of shorter staple or pulp fibers. The hydraulic entangling technique provides a nonwoven fibrous elastic material having increased web strength and integrity, and allows for better control of other product attributes, such as absorbency, wet strength and abrasion resistance.
