  • Patent number: 11684409
Abstract: An electrosurgical instrument (10) with two branches (11, 12) that are pivotably supported at each other by means of a pivot joint (13) is disclosed. The pivot joint (13) has a support pin (34) and a support cavity (37). The support pin (34) is particularly torque-proof connected with one of the branches (11) or (12) and rotatably supported in the support cavity (37) of the respective other branch (12) or (11). Between the branches (11, 12) a seal (45) is provided that sealingly abuts at the two branches (11, 12) and that surrounds the support pin (34) completely in the circumferential direction. Preferably, the support pin (34) is sealingly connected with the respective branch (11, 12) at its axial ends. In doing so, entering of contaminants in the area between the support pin (34) and the support cavity (37) from all sides or access possibilities is inhibited.

  • Patent number: 11129668
Abstract: The instrument comprises a jaw arrangement with two jaws that have, on their side facing the counter-electrode arrangement, rounded or flat electrode surfaces. The counter-electrode arrangement comprises at least one counter-electrode surface that may be rounded or flat. One of the electrode surfaces has a band edge preferably bordered by an insulator on one side, said band edge being adjacent to the adjacent electrode surface of the jaw arrangement. The counter-electrode surface has a band edge adjacent to the insulator facing the band edge of the one electrode surface. The band edges of the electrode surfaces acting as the coagulation surfaces are close enough such that they form cutting edges that develop a cutting effect with low voltages that are otherwise suitable only for coagulation. Accordingly, it is possible to provide fusion instruments that are extremely delicate, display lower thermal inertia and an excellent fusion and cutting effect.

  • Patent number: 11123131
Abstract: A tool (16) for the coagulation and dissection of biological tissue including a counter-bearing (35) that has at least one recess (37) open toward the outside and/or one or more hollow chambers (63). The recess (37) or the hollow chamber (63) is configured to provide a force/path elasticity characteristic curve with a plateau-like region II, V, during compression and reexpansion. The path section x in which the elasticity characteristic curve indicates the plateau II, IV preferably is as long as the tissue to be dissected is thick, and is, for example, in the range of 0.2 to 1.5 mm. As a result, the force exerted on the tissue during the cutting operation remains substantially constant in the effective work region.

  • Patent number: 11084056
Abstract: A color change system includes a stator having a plurality of media valves where each of the plurality of media valves has a valve closing body disposed within a valve chamber that is formed in the stator. A fluid connection is provided which emanates a plurality of control channels which lead to a respective control pressure chamber of the media valves where a respective mechanically operable switch valve is located in each of the plurality of control channels. Mechanical actuators are disposed such that only one switch valve is activatable selectively dependent on a relative position of a selector head to the stator.

  • Patent number: 11020167
Abstract: An instrument (10) provided for simultaneous coagulation and dissection of tissue has tissue receptacles between the cutting electrode and the sealing electrode for the formation of tissue bulges to secure the tissue in the tool during the sealing process. In order to make it possible to form voluminous tissue bulges and to prevent their atrophy, the cutting electrode is supplied by a current limiting component, preferably in the form of a coupling capacitor. Thereby, in particular, in tissue that can be cut through easily, but which requires a long time for sealing, a high degree of process safety is achieved.

  • Publication number: 20210153927
Abstract: A surgical tool for performing telesurgical surgical operations such as cutting, shearing, grasping, engaging, or contacting tissue. The surgical tool comprises a pair of jaws cooperatively rotating open and close about an axis of rotation. The jaws further comprise one or more compliant electrodes electrically communicating with a conductor to deliver electrical energy to tissue engaged by the jaws. The electrodes formed of an elastomeric material impregnated with a conductive material or formed atop an elastomeric material allowing a certain amount of flexibility and thereby maintaining more consistent pressure on the tissue when the jaws engage the tissue.

  • Patent number: 10987157
Abstract: The coagulation arrangement (10) according to the invention comprises an instrument (11) having a tool (17) comprising coagulating electrodes (22, 23, 27, 28), as well as a dissecting electrode (36). The electrodes are powered by a circuit (44) that comprises a coagulating voltage source (54) and a dissecting voltage source (55), or that can be connected to such sources. The device comprises a dissection actuating switch (60) and a coagulation actuating switch (59). The former is connected to a power switch (58) that—in dissecting mode—connects the current path from the dissecting voltage source (55) to the dissecting electrode (36), before the dissecting voltage source (55) or the HF output voltage source (47) and the coagulating voltage source (54) are actuated. Thus, the user is presented with a reliable means in a simple manner in order to be able to more flexibly perform more complex operations.

  • Patent number: 10130414
Abstract: A sealing instrument (10) including two branches (15, 16) with sealing jaws (19, 20, 36, 37) acted on by a sealing voltage preferably between 80 and 120 volts. Tissue receptacles (53, 54) are separated from one another by a wall-like extension (24), which at its lower edge carries a cutting electrode (31), are defined between the branches (15, 16). A cutting voltage from 300 to 500 volts is applied between a branch (16) and the cutting electrode. When the branches are closed the grasped tissue is sealed simultaneously between the sealing jaws (19, 36 and 20, 37) and is severed by the cutting electrode (31). Even though the tissue is severed completely; for example after 0.3 to 0.5 seconds and the sealing requires more time, the rolls of tissue grasped in the tissue receptacles (53, 54) act as form-fitting protection of the vessel edges in the tool (12).

  • Patent number: 7513340
Abstract: The present invention relates to a brake holder of a floating-caliper disc brake for motor vehicles at which brake pads arranged on either side of an associated brake disc are displaceably mounted. To ensure ease of displaceability a brake pad guide spring is provided that extends between the brake holder and the brake pads. For ease of mountability of both the brake pads and the brake pad guide spring, it is arranged for that the brake pad guide spring is mountable on the brake holder in a generally radial direction and is locked at the brake holder in both radial and axial directions by means of at least one fixing clamp, and at least one spring arm is designed at the brake pad guide spring and fixes at least one brake pad under spring bias in position on the brake holder in a clearance-free manner. These provisions not only improve the mountability of a brake of this type but also the rattle-free resilient arrangement of the brake pads.
