  • Publication number: 20190317593
Abstract: Image editing on a wearable device includes a system which obtains sensor data via the wearable device. The sensor data includes a representation of hand movement, head movement or voice command associated with a user. The system executes an application for editing an image based on the obtained sensor data. The system provides for display a list of image adjustment types associated with the application. The system selects an image adjustment type based on one or more of the hand movement, the head movement or the voice command. The system provides for display a prompt having options to adjust a property of the selected image adjustment type. The system selects one of the options included in the prompt. The system modifies an image based on the selected option. The system then provides the modified image for storage in a data structure of a memory unit in the wearable device.

  • Publication number: 20190202188
Abstract: Adhesive bleed-through of substrates and build-up of adhesive on process equipment can be reduced or even fully eliminated by increasing the running temperature of circumferential rolls (e.g., nip rollers or idlers) used to compress and adhesively bond the substrates of a laminate structure together, as opposed to the usual cooling of the nip rollers. This method is particularly beneficial when using polyolefin-based hot melt adhesives to form laminates with permeable substrates, such as low basis weight nonwovens, for use in disposable absorbent articles. The method can be used to make a range of laminated structures, such as bi-laminates and tri-laminates.

  • Publication number: 20190187568
Abstract: An immersion lithography apparatus has a controller configured to control a substrate table to move along an exposure route including in order: an entry motion in which the substrate moves from an off-substrate position at which the immersion space does not overlap the substrate to an on-substrate position at which the immersion space at least partially overlaps the substrate, a transfer motion in which the substrate table changes speed and/or direction and moves for at least a transfer time after the substrate moves to the on-substrate position, and an expose motion in which the substrate is scanned and the patterned beam is projected onto the substrate, wherein throughout the transfer motion at least a part of the immersion space overlaps the substrate and wherein the patterned beam is not projected onto the substrate during the entry motion and the transfer motion.

  • Patent number: 10082847
Abstract: A temperature of a component within the portable computing device (PCD) may be monitored along with a parameter associated with the temperature. The parameter associated with temperature may be an operating frequency, transmission power, or a data flow rate. It is determined if the temperature has exceeded a threshold value. If the temperature has exceeded the threshold value, then the temperature is compared with a temperature set point and a first error value is then calculated based on the comparison. Next, a first optimum value of the parameter is determined based on the first error value. If the temperature is below or equal to the threshold value, then a present value of the parameter is compared with a desired threshold for the parameter and a second error value is calculated based on the comparison. A second optimum value of the parameter may be determined based on the second error value.

  • Patent number: 9977439
Abstract: Various embodiments of methods and systems for energy efficiency aware thermal management in a portable computing device that contains a heterogeneous, multi-processor system on a chip (“SoC”) are disclosed. Because individual processing components in a heterogeneous, multi-processor SoC may exhibit different processing efficiencies at a given temperature, energy efficiency aware thermal management techniques that compare performance data of the individual processing components at their measured operating temperatures can be leveraged to optimize quality of service (“QoS”) by adjusting the power supplies to, reallocating workloads away from, or transitioning the power mode of, the least energy efficient processing components. In these ways, embodiments of the solution optimize the average amount of power consumed across the SoC to process a MIPS of workload.

  • Patent number: 9934560
Abstract: Methods and systems for modifying an image by applying an effect to an image are described. The effects include a pop effect, a light adjustment, or a color adjustment to an image. The methods and systems include providing a user slider for applying an effect to the image. The methods and systems further include determining a first portion of the image including a face and creating a protection mask to protect the face in the first portion during image modification. The protection mask may include an enhancement threshold for modifying the first portion of the image. The modification of the image may include modifying the second portion of the image differently than the first portion of the image. A method for enforcing different resolutions of a same input image to produce similar visual results is also described.

  • Publication number: 20170316256
Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes identifying interesting moments from a video. The video is received and includes image frames. Continual motion of one or more objects in the video is identified based on identifying foreground motion in the image frames. Video segments from the video that include the continual motion are generated. A segment score for each of the video segments is generated based on animation criteria. Responsive to one or more of segment scores exceeding the threshold animation score, one or more corresponding video segments are selected. An animation is generated based on the one or more corresponding video segments.

  • Patent number: 9557797
Abstract: Aspects include computing devices, systems, and methods for selecting preferred processor core combinations for a state of a computing device. In an aspect, a state of a computing device containing the multi-core processor may be determined. A number of current leakage ratios may be determined by comparing current leakages of the processor cores to current leakages of the other processor cores. The ratios may be compared to boundaries for the state of the computing device in respective inequalities. A processor core associated with a number of boundaries may be selected in response to determining that the respective inequalities are true. The boundaries may be associated with a set of processor cores deemed preferred for an associated state of the computing device. The processor core present in the set of processor cores for each boundary of a true inequality may be the selected processor core.
