Abstract: A dispensing apparatus and method are disclosed for dispensing sheet material from at least one roll of the sheet material. Dispensing is transferred from a stub roll to a reserve roll automatically in response to sensing a predetermined quantity of the stub roll. An isolating element is provided to lift the reserve roll out of contact with dispensing rollers during dispensing of sheet material from the stub roll, and a nipping element is provided to nip sheet material of the reserve roll when dispensing is transferred from the stub roll to the reserve roll. A cam controls movement of both the isolating element and the nipping element. Structure is also provided for sensing the diameter of the reserve roll of sheet material and providing an indication when the reserve roll is a predetermined diameter. The dispenser is quiet and capacity efficient.

Abstract: An iron includes a soleplate and a water tank connected to the soleplate for supplying steam to the soleplate. The water tank includes a cavity for holding water, a fill opening for filling the cavity with water, and a guide arrangement associated with the fill opening. A handle is connected with the water tank. A rear cover is connected to a rear end of the water tank, the rear cover having a rear plate in covering relation to a rear portion of the iron, and the rear plate including an arrangement for stabilizing the iron in an upright position on a soft surface. The arrangement includes a recess in an outer surface of the rear plate, and at least one non-slip foot extending from the outer surface of the rear plate. A fill door is slidably mounted on the guide arrangement between a closed position in covering relation to the fill opening and an open position to permit filling of the cavity with water through the fill opening.

Abstract: A bone cement mixing apparatus is provided for mixing solid and liquid bone cement components. The apparatus includes a common receptacle base having an interior base surrounded by a continuous side wall with an access opening for accessing the interior. A lid is provided for forming a closure over the top of the receptacle base, the lid having a smaller access opening therethrough. A pair of modular inserts can be selectively placed within the interior of the common receptacle base. The modular components include a mixing bowl and a mixing syringe. Thus, the user can place the bowl or syringe as desired within the receptacle base before mixing bone cement therein. Impellers are provided for each of the mixing vessels including the bowl and the syringe. A vacuum line is provided for sectioning air and gases from the interior of the receptacle base during an addition of liquid or solid bone cement components to either the bowl or the syringe via the smaller access opening in the lid.
