  • Patent number: 11607351
Abstract: A method of making a laminate for an absorbent article is provided. The laminate comprises elastic elements disposed at least partially intermediate two substrates. The first substrate has a primary fiber bond pattern formed therein and comprising a plurality of primary fiber bonds. The method comprises forming densified regions in the first substrate. A perimeter of each of the densified regions is larger than a perimeter of each of the primary fiber bonds. The densified regions together form a pattern of densified regions in the first substrate. The method comprises adhesively attaching the elastic elements to the first substrate, joining the second substrate to the first substrate or to some of the elastic elements, and forming a plurality of rugosities in the first substrate by allowing the elastic elements to at least partially contract. The frequency and amplitude ranges of the rugosities result from the pattern of the densified regions.

  • Patent number: 11096835
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods for sealing absorbent cores of disposable diaper pants during the assembly process. The diaper pants may include a chassis connected with a ring-like elastic belt. Aspects of the assembly methods involve bonding a continuous length of absorbent cores between a continuous topsheet substrate and a continuous backsheet substrate advancing in a machine direction. The combined continuous topsheet substrate, continuous backsheet substrate, and continuous length of absorbent cores are then cut along a cross direction to create discrete chassis, wherein the topsheet, the backsheet, and the absorbent core of each chassis have equal longitudinal lengths. The discrete chassis are then deposited onto a first continuous elastic laminate and a second continuous elastic laminate. Opposing end regions of the absorbent cores may then be sealed by positioning a sealing layer across the topsheets of the chassis.

  • Publication number: 20210236348
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to absorbent articles and methods for assembling absorbent articles with substrates and/or components that include graphics with zones of relatively high print densities and zones of relatively low print densities. In turn, the zones of relatively low print densities may be positioned in regions that are subject to various manufacturing transformations during the assembly process. As such, the graphics may be positioned and/or printed in such a manner so as to reduce noticeable visible results of imprecise and/or inconsistent manufacturing operations performed in areas where the graphics are located.

  • Patent number: 10925775
Abstract: Absorbent articles herein may include components having graphics including unmasked and masked zones, wherein the masked zones are defined by alternating arranged printed and unprinted regions. The masked zones give the appearance that the graphics fade or gradually transition from areas of relatively high print intensities in the unmasked zones to areas of relatively low print intensities. In addition, the graphics may be printed with relatively constant print densities in both masked and unmasked zones, and thus, avoid many of the unintended negative effects and difficulties associated with printing graphics with faded zones of print intensities. As such, substrates and/or components to be incorporated into manufactured absorbent articles include graphics include masked zones that may be positioned and/or printed in such a manner so as to functionally reduce noticeable visible results of imprecise and/or inconsistent assembly operations performed in areas where the graphics are located.
