  • Publication number: 20130121775
Abstract: A double-sided, indexable cutting insert for a milling cutter includes a first surface, a second surface, and side surfaces. Major cutting edges are defined at an intersection between the first and second surfaces and side surfaces. Minor cutting edges and ramping cutting edges are defined at the intersection between the first and second surfaces and side surfaces. The cutting insert is mounted in a milling cutter having a bottom seating surface formed at an angle with respect to a central, rotational axis of the milling cutter, which provides superior performance for both milling and ramping cutting operations.

  • Patent number: 8388272
Abstract: A milling cutter includes a shank and upper portion with an insert pocket. The insert pocket includes a bottom surface, a radial support wall and an axial support wall. A cutting insert includes a hole extending from a bottom surface. A tapered pin includes a lower portion and a tapered upper portion. A spring engages the lower portion of the tapered pin and provides an upward biasing force on the tapered pin. A center axis of the tapered pin is closer to the radial support wall than a center axis of the hole of the cutting insert such that the tapered pin exerts pressure against the hole of the cutting insert to cause one of the side walls of the cutting insert to be forced against the radial support wall of the insert pocket when the cutting insert is mounted in the insert pocket.

  • Publication number: 20120201629
Abstract: A fastener for attaching a milling cutter body to an adaptor includes a head portion, a body portion and an undercut disposed between the head portion and the body portion. The head portion has a diameter greater than a diameter of the undercut and a thread root diameter. The diameter of the undercut is equal to or less than the thread root diameter to allow the fastener to freely rotate when the fastener is threaded completely through the milling cutter body. Once threaded completely threaded the milling cutter body, the fastener is threaded into the adaptor to securely attached the milling cutter body to the adaptor.

  • Patent number: 7991638
Abstract: Methods and computer-readable media having computer-usable instructions for evaluating and displaying trade information for a user. Customer addresses are received, and then a buffer area is created around each of the customer address. The buffer area for each address is combined to generate at least one aggregated area. The aggregated area is then disaggregated to define a polygon which is useful for generating a density map, indicating an ideal retail location for a new store, and determining which retail store to relocate or close.

  • Patent number: 7769840
Abstract: A web-based geographic network status tool uses an animation process that sequentially displays web pages, one after the other. Each page reflects the status of the network for a different time block. The animation optionally includes two layers. One layer shows which elements (towers) are faulty and why (e.g., subject to power failure, undergoing software or hardware problems, transport problems). The other layer displays if the problem has been perpetuated for more than one time block.

  • Publication number: 20090209911
Abstract: An apparatus includes a cartridge having a liquid drug reservoir configured to hold a liquid drug and a volatile liquid reservoir configured to hold a volatile liquid. The cartridge is configured so that vaporization of at least some of the volatile liquid creates a flow of the liquid drug out of the liquid drug reservoir. The apparatus also includes a flow sensor configured to monitor the flow of the liquid drug, a liquid valve configured to regulate the flow of the liquid drug, and an insertion unit configured to deliver the liquid drug to a person. The cartridge may also include a vaporized gas chamber configured to hold the gas. The gas in the vaporized gas chamber expands and pushes the liquid drug out of the liquid drug reservoir.

  • Patent number: 7437274
Abstract: A method of objectively and subjectively monitoring noise and correspondingly level or loudness thereof in a product or assembly. The method includes placing a product on the vibration generator. Activating the vibration generator to move or shake the product to simulate usage conditions. A sound recording instrument measures and records the noise emitted by the product or assembly. Comparing an objective metric computed from the recorded noise with a threshold metric. Evaluating the vehicle to determine the noise source when the objective metric exceeds the threshold metric. Saving the objective metric along with the information relating to the source of the noise and necessary repairs for further evaluation and statistical analysis.

  • Publication number: 20060237680
Abstract: A valve is provided that includes a valve housing, a valve element, and a flapper. The valve housing has a passage. The valve element is rotationally mounted in the passage and moveable between an open position and a closed position. Additionally, the valve element has a flow channel extending therethrough. The flapper is coupled to the valve element and moveable between a closed position, to thereby substantially seal the flow channel, and an open position, to thereby unseal the flow channel, the flapper configured to move to the open position when a differential pressure across the flapper reaches a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 7093023
Abstract: A reprogrammable packet processing system for processing a stream of data is disclosed herein. A reprogrammable data processor is implemented with a programmable logic device (PLD), such as a field programmable gate array (FPGA), that is programmed to determine whether a stream of data applied thereto includes a string that matches a redefinable data pattern. If a matching string is found, the data processor performs a specified action in response thereto. The data processor is reprogrammable to search packets for the presence of different data patterns and/or perform different actions when a matching string is detected. A reconfiguration device receives input from a user specifying the data pattern and action, processes the input to generate the configuration information necessary to reprogram the PLD, and transmits the configuration information to the packet processor for reprogramming thereof.

  • Patent number: 7081264
Abstract: The present invention has methods for preparing a processed peanut product containing high levels of peanut hearts material, with the peanut heart material being substantially stripped of bitter taste so as to provide debittered peanut hearts of comparable taste to actual peanuts or as being flavorless without adversely affecting the taste of a foodstuff end product. The processed product includes whole or fragmented peanut hearts and peanut heart powder processed using alkaline wash, neutralization, and drying for inactivating enzymes and removing bitter flavoring components. The peanut heart materials are debittered by adjusting the pH to about 8 to about 12 with an alkali material (e.g., sodium hydroxide) to solubilize the protein content and release the bitter flavor compounds making it possible to separate such compounds by ultrafiltration. The alkali treated peanut heart material is neutralized with an acidic aqueous solution.
