  • Patent number: 6259693
Abstract: An apparatus and method for enabling the combination of multiple streams of data cells into a single thread. By enabling plural input ports of an intermediate device to access a single parallel output port of the device, plural network switch elements share a single thread through a switch fabric. For instance, the method and apparatus permit interleaving the relatively low bandwidth cell outputs of two ATM network switch central control processors onto a single thread routed through an interconnected switch fabric. Certain of these cells are received from the switch fabric at a parallel input of the intermediate device, then routed to one of plural serial output ports. Pacing of cells provided to the plural serial input ports prevents exceeding the shared thread bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 6156364
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of forming proofed dough for baked goods in a predetermined shape, as well as an apparatus for practicing the method. The apparatus includes a closed dough handling system that includes a pressurized dough mixer, a dough transporting device joined to the pressurized dough mixer, and an injection molding device joined to the dough transporting device. The method includes the step of transporting proofed dough from the pressurized dough mixer through the dough transporting device to the injection molding device, wherein the injection molding device fills the injection mold with dough when it is connected to the dough transporting device, thus forming one or more pieces of dough having the predetermined shape within the molds. The injection molds containing the dough may then either be conveyed into an oven to form a baked piece of dough having the predetermined shape, or conveyed into a freezer to form a frozen piece of dough having the predetermined shape.

  • Patent number: 5953314
Abstract: First and second control processor cards are employed in conjunction with first and second switch fabric cards to interconnect Input/Output cards in a telecommunications switch. The control processor cards provide a portion of the functionality previously associated with switch fabric cards, such as exertion of control over allocation of bandwidth within the switch. The control processor cards also provide new functionality. In particular, each control processor card can configure both switch fabric cards. Redundant control processor cards and redundant switch fabric cards are employed to provide a switch that is less susceptible to failure than switches with only redundant switch fabric cards. Hence, failure of a control processor card and a switch fabric card can be sustained without resulting in switch failure. Timing control functions may also be provided by a separate timing module card.

  • Patent number: 5844151
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting and measuring organic materials present on components used in magnetic storage systems, such as an actuator coil. The component is heated on a hot plate, and a concave lens with a low surface energy coating is placed over the component. The contaminants volatilize and condense on the glass lens. The condensate is collected in solvent. The solvent is evaporated and the size of the residue is measured. A determination can be made whether the component is suitable for used in a magnetic storage system.

  • Patent number: 5690499
Abstract: An electrical socket has a slot for receiving an edge of a circuit card and an extractor which is movable for dislodging the circuit card from the slot. The socket has a pair of flexible towers, and the extractor has a pair of lateral projections which are received in notches in the towers for locking the extractor in a closed position. The projections have beveled surfaces, and the towers have complementary ramps which are engaged by the beveled surfaces so that the towers are resiliently deflected without damage to the projections.

  • Patent number: 4099913
Abstract: Foams containing a functional textile treating compound for application to a substrate such as a fabric or textile. The use of foams enables the application in uniform manner of many functional compositions that can be used in the treatment of a textile fabric to improve its properties. The foam compositions of this invention generally leave the textile material essentially dry to the touch and thus require less energy consumption in drying and further treatment of the textile. The foams have a foam density of 0.005 to 0.3 gram per cc, and average bubble size of from 0.05 to 0.5 millimeters in diameter and a foam half-life of from one to sixty minutes.
