  • Publication number: 20110267921
Abstract: A method for seismic inversion of vertical seismic profile (VSP) data in an oilfield. The method includes obtaining an initial velocity model of a subterranean formation including acoustic velocities of wave propagation in proximity to the wellbore, determining an acquisition geometry for obtaining the VSP data including receiver locations within the wellbore and a source location, performing a seismic survey to obtain the VSP data based on the acquisition geometry, analyzing arrival signals of the VSP data to generate transit time data for wave propagation from the source location to the receiver locations, modifying the initial velocity model to generate an updated velocity model by performing a tomographic inversion of the transit time data, generating an elastic model of the subterranean formation by performing the seismic inversion of the VSP data using the updated velocity model, and adjusting the operations of the oilfield based on the elastic model.

Abstract: Dimers of a peptide from the T-cell receptor (Cys Lys Pro Ile Ser Gly His Asn Ser Leu Phe Trp Tyr Arg Gln Thr) (SEQ ID NO:1) are disclosed for preventing the progression to AIDS in an animal model. Methods for delaying the progression to AIDS and restoring normal immunological responses in an animal model following infection are shown and comprise administering through various systemic routes dimeric T-cell receptor peptide V? CDR1 to restore normal levels of Th1 cytokines interleukin 2 and interferon-?, which are suppressed following infection, and those of Th2 derived cytokines interleukin 5, interleukin 6, interleukin 10, and immunoglobulin G, which are stimulated following infection.

  • Publication number: 20100254936
Abstract: Disclosed herein are acylhydrazone and semicarbazones derivatives of aldehydes and ketones that may act to attract plant pathogenic zoospores and methods of using these compounds. These compounds include the compound according to Formula 1: wherein: X is selected from the group consisting of: (CH2)n, 1,3-phenylene and 1,4-phenylene; R1 is selected from the group consisting of iso-butyl, sec-butyl and tert-butyl-CH2; R2 is hydrogen or methyl; and n is equal to 0-25. Upon exposure to water, these compounds release aldehydes or ketones that may attract zoospores. These compounds can be combined with fungicides to form fungicidal formulations that are especially effective against oomycete producing fungal pathogens.
