  • Publication number: 20170228570
Abstract: Methodologies, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for reading machine readable features of objects. A local terminal generates a temporary object number corresponding to an unreadable object and captures an image of the unreadable object. A message is sent to a number of portable devices requesting that a duplicate of the unreadable object be located and that a machine readable feature on the duplicate object be read. Once a duplicate object is located, one of the portable devices reads a machine readable feature on the duplicate object, and the portable device calls a service offered by a server to retrieve a data value corresponding to the duplicate item from a database. This data value is then sent to the local terminal invoking a service offered by the terminal to replace the temporary object number with the data value corresponding to the duplicate item.

  • Publication number: 20170205687
Abstract: A removable hinge for connecting a plate to a bracket. The bracket has a hook slot which has an open end and a retaining end. A hook on the plate fits into the open end of the hook slot and slides along the hook slot to the retaining end. When the plate is in a hanging position, the hook is at the retaining end of the hook slot. The plate is removable from the bracket by sliding the hook from the hook slot out of the open end. The removable hinge may be advantageously use in coupling a camera assembly, such as a bullet camera, to a bracket mounted on a wall or ceiling.

  • Publication number: 20170205027
Abstract: A swivel joint for an articulating arm comprising a section having a bore with an annular groove where the bore is sized for a stud, with another annular groove, of a plate to slide into the bore. A retaining ring seats in the annular grooves to swivelly couple the section with the plate. The arm may be advantageously used in a camera assembly, such as a bullet camera, to point the camera once mounted on a wall or ceiling.

  • Publication number: 20170184052
Abstract: A piston for a heavy duty diesel engine including a composite layer forming at least a portion of a combustion surface is provided. The composite layer has a thickness greater than 500 microns and includes a mixture of components typically used to form brake pads, such as a thermoset resin, an insulating component, strengthening fibers, and an impact toughening additive. According to one example, the thermoset resin is a phenolic resin, the insulating component is a ceramic, the strengthening fibers are graphite, and the impact toughening additive is an aramid pulp of fibrillated chopped synthetic fibers. The composite layer also has a thermal conductivity of 0.8 to 5 W/m·K. The body portion of the piston can include an undercut scroll thread to improve mechanical locking of the composite layer. The piston can also include a ceramic insert between the body portion and the composite layer.

  • Patent number: 9363557
Abstract: Future media viewership is forecast based on time ordered analysis of historical viewership information from an individual or combination of a plurality of data sets. Forecast models having coefficients derived from comparisons of time series representations of data sets across a plurality of time periods and data sources join together disparate data sets. Individual data sets from disparate data sources may be compared to identify possible untrustworthy data or data that requires further investigation. Organizing viewership information in a time series allows for imputing missing data in a respective data set.

  • Patent number: 7451571
Abstract: A flashing and associated assembly and method for directing water along an interface between a roof and a wall are provided. The flashing, which can be formed as a unitary molded plastic member, has an angled configuration. In particular, a roof portion of the flashing is configured to be disposed on the roof, and first and second flanges extend perpendicularly from the roof portion to define a continuous passage for receiving water. The flanges define an obtuse angle therebetween so that when one flange is disposed against the wall the other flange is configured to direct water flowing along the passage away from the wall. The flashing can be reversible so that the same flashing can be selectively installed at wall-roof interfaces of different configurations.

  • Publication number: 20070122255
Abstract: A staple hole forming apparatus including a pair of pins and a pin receptor. The pair of pins are spaced from each other a distance substantially equal to a distance between two legs of a staple. The pin receptor is positioned opposite the pair of pins relative to a sheet path through the staple hole forming apparatus. The pin receptor is positioned to mate with at least one of the pair of pins. One of the pair of pins and the pin receptor is configured to move towards and mate with the other of the pair of pins and the pin receptor causing the pair of pins to penetrate a sheet extending between the pair of pins and the pin receptor to form two holes in the sheet.
