  • Patent number: 9594867
Abstract: A range-pattern-matching-type DRC-based process hotspot detection is provided that considers edge tolerances and incomplete specification (“don't care”) regions in foundry-provided hotspot patterns. First, all possible topological patterns are enumerated for the foundry-provided hotspot pattern. Next, critical topological features are extracted from each pattern topology and converted to critical design rules using Modified Transitive Closure Graphs (MTCGs). Third, the extracted critical design rules are arranged in an order that facilitates searching space reduction techniques, and then the DRC process is sequentially repeated on a user's entire layout pattern for each critical design rule in a first group, then searching space reduction is performed to generate a reduced layout pattern, and then DRC process is performed for all remaining critical design rules using the reduced layout pattern.

  • Publication number: 20140358830
Abstract: A hotspot detection system that classifies a set of hotspot training data into a plurality of hotspot clusters according to their topologies, where the hotspot clusters are associated with different hotspot topologies, and classifies a set of non-hotspot training data into a plurality of non-hotspot clusters according to their topologies, where the non-hotspot clusters are associated with different topologies. The system extracts topological and non-topological critical features from the hotspot clusters and centroids of the non-hotspot clusters. The system also creates a plurality of kernels configured to identify hotspots, where each kernel is constructed using the extracted critical features of the non-hotspot clusters and the extracted critical features from one of the hotspot clusters, and each kernel is configured to identify hotspot topologies different from hotspot topologies that the other kernels are configured to identify.

  • Patent number: 8601419
Abstract: An accurate process hotspot detection technique based on DRC is provided. In this technique, critical DRC rules can be extracted from a pattern. This extraction can include generating horizontal tiles and vertical tiles in the pattern, and adding directed edges to indicate relations between adjacent tiles in the pattern. Rule rectangles, which can also be generated during the critical DRC rule extraction, describe polygon placement in the pattern with a minimal number of critical DRC rules. The extracted DRC rules can be included in a DRC runset file. DRC can be performed with the DRC runset file on a layout. The DRC results can be filtered using the rule rectangles to identify potential hotspots and to verify actual hotspots.

  • Patent number: 8402420
Abstract: A method for designing an optimal wiring topology for electromigration avoidance is disclosed. The wiring topology includes multiple sources, multiple sinks and multiple wires. The method includes the following steps: A feasible wire, a wire of the shortest length connecting each pair of source and sink, is calculated, and the capacity of each feasible wire is decided. An initial feasible topology is found. A flow network is created based on the initial topology. Negative cycles are iteratively checked and removed until no more negative cycles.

  • Patent number: 8307323
Abstract: A method for analog placement and global routing considering wiring symmetry performs a layout for a circuit which is described by a netlist having a set of devices and wires. First, the method inputs the netlist, and each device thereof has a design constraint and a corresponding priority. Based on the priorities, it performs a sorting on the devices to establish a constraint library. Then, based on the design constraint and corresponding priority of each device, the method establishes a hierarchical constraint tree. According to the hierarchical constraint tree, the method performs placement of each device, wherein possible shape of each device is represented by a shape curve. For each placement of the device, the method calculates a corresponding cost function. Then, it selects an optimum placement of the device according to the cost functions. The method establishes an RSMT for each wire and then performs an analog routing.

  • Patent number: 7324704
Abstract: A method of repairing scratches in a digital image includes counting the number of abnormal pixels among neighboring pixels of a selected pixel. The selected pixels that are surrounded by abnormal pixels in a number greater than a predetermined value are designed as particular pixels. An area surrounding each particular pixel is divided into a plurality of blocks. Furthermore, brightness difference between two of the blocks are calculated. Scratch pixels are found from the particular pixels based on brightness difference between blocks. Then, an area surrounded by scratch pixels are subdivided and filled up. Thereby, the scratch pixels can be precisely found and repaired without the need of hardware.

  • Patent number: 7257276
Abstract: A digital image interpolation method is disclosed which a projection point (x, y) of the original image corresponding to a pixel of the transformed image first is determined. According to neighboring pixels (m, n) of the projection point, Gauss weights Wi then are determined. Lastly, according to the Gauss weights Wi and the corresponding color value Vi of the neighboring pixels, a color value f (x, y) of the projection point is computed. Via an interpolation method using Gauss weight, the computation time is reduced while qualitatively improving the image processing.

  • Publication number: 20050105820
Abstract: A method for enhancing text image is applicable to a digital image containing monochrome text. The method is first to label text pixels and to-be-determined pixels according to grayscales of the image pixels. Then, to identify some mostly-be text pixels, smooth them into text pixels; and look for text edge pixels from the rest of the to-be-determined pixels, and fill the text pixels to enhance contrast of text and background. The zigzags are thus removed and the text clearness is improved.
