  • Publication number: 20020079994
Abstract: For the purpose of testing a relay, a safety relay comprises a key (12) arranged in a housing cover and which acts upon a lever (38) pivotally mounted on the inside of the housing. Due to the pivoting of the lever a movable switching contact carrier of the relay is moved. To avoid excessive deviation of the switching contact carrier through excessive lever force and therefore a possible plastic deformation of the contact carrier springs, the force which is possibly applied to the switching contact carrier is restricted by a U-shaped spring (40) held by the lever (38). A pressure leg (48) is biased by a latching lug (52a, 52b) supported by a peg formed as one piece with the lever (38). Consequently the switching contact carrier is moved via the spring with only a predetermined maximum force, so that a deformation of the springs supporting the contact pieces is avoided and the contact pieces maintain the required specified contact distance.

  • Patent number: 6323747
Abstract: The relay has a base body, an electromagnet system having a coil, core and armature, as well as a contact arrangement having at least one stationary contact spring and at least one moving contact spring. The contact springs are each designed as planar sheet-metal parts and are anchored in the base body approximately in the same plane, without any permanent bending. In order to make contact, they are provided with an overlap by means of L-shaped end sections; in addition, prestressing of the stationary contact springs is produced by in each case one stop on the base body.

  • Patent number: 6144270
Abstract: The relay has a T-shaped core and a U-shaped armature, the transverse web of the latter being mounted on the free end section of the core longitudinal limb, and the free ends of its longitudinal arms forming two parallel operating air gaps with respect to the transverse limbs of the core. In this way, particularly simple assembly and an operating air gap with large pole areas can be achieved using a small number of simple parts.

  • Patent number: 5703554
Abstract: A bistable switching arrangement has a magnetic system comprised of a yoke/core, an armature and at least one permanent magnet, as well as a magnetic coil. The armature is swingably held at the core by a spring and mechanically linked to a movable contact, with an air gap being formed in one switching state between the armature and a pole face of the yoke/core combination. In order to attain that only slight forces act upon the released armature, the permanent magnet is positioned in a region of the yoke to form one part of the cross sectional area, with the other part being formed by a non-magnetic member.
