  • Patent number: 4845176
Abstract: Ethene homopolymers and ethene copolymers with minor amounts of higher .alpha.-monoolefins are prepared by polymerization of the monomer or monomers using a chromium trioxide catalyst which is obtained by a method in which (1) a finely divided, porous, silicate carrier is laden with (2) chromium trioxide or a chromium compound which is converted to chromium trioxide under the conditions of stage (3), and then (3) the intermediate resulting from stage (2) is heated in an oxygen-containing gas stream. In this process, a cocatalyst which consists of a lithiumalkyl used in addition to the chromium trioxide catalyst.

  • Patent number: 4840393
Abstract: In a wheel suspension for steerable rear wheels of motor vehicles, especially passenger motor vehicles, which include in a customary manner a front wheel steering system and additionally a rear wheel steering system (four wheel steering system), each rear wheel-wheel carrier is pivotally connected with the vehicle body or the like about a steering axis of rotation by way of cross guide members, which steering axis of rotation is arranged inclined in such a manner that during a deflection not only an inclined positioning of the rear wheel results but at the same time a change of the wheel camber results so that a rapid build-up of the lateral force for the lateral shift of the vehicle is achieved.

  • Patent number: 4671532
Abstract: A rear wheel suspension for motor vehicles, especially for driven rear wheels which comprises a wheel carrier supporting the wheel, which is connected with the vehicle body by way of an upper cross guide member and two lower cross guide members. Additionally, a longitudinal arm is pivotally connected with the wheel carrier. This longitudinal arm is supported at the forward lower cross guide member between the two ends thereof by way of a connecting bearing which couples this guide member with the longitudinal arm approximately in the vertical direction but permits approximately horizontal relative movements between the guide member and the longitudinal arm. An instantaneous longitudinal center of rotation can be realized by this type of construction about which the wheel pivots during the spring compression movement whereas the real point of pivotal connection of the longitudinal arm is located considerably lower and nearer the wheel.

  • Patent number: 4671531
Abstract: A rear wheel suspension for motor vehicles with a wheel carrier supporting the wheel, with a longitudinal arm extending approximately in the vehicle longitudinal direction and connected with the wheel carrier and the vehicle body and with at least two cross guide members connected with the wheel carrier which are arranged one behind the other in plan view. Whereas the longitudinal arm is elastically connected directly with the vehicle body, the two cross guide members are pivotally connected at their ends on the body side at an auxiliary frame which in its turn is elastically connected with the vehicle body by way of rubber bushings. Unilaterally acting longitudinal forces can be absorbed elastically in the bearing without causing a significant rotation of the auxiliary frame about a vertical axis which would lead to undesired steering movements of the two wheels of an axle.
