  • Patent number: 11017099
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for entropy balanced population measurement. Entropy balancing is a statistical technique for preprocessing data to achieve covariate balance. Weighting coefficients may be dynamically adjusted to satisfy balance conditions or constraints to adjust for inequalities in representation, thereby improving covariate moments. Using entropy balancing and linear regression analysis with panel content exposure and results data provides a mechanism to estimate the effects of multiple exposure vectors simultaneously, including instances where panelists are exposed to a vector multiple times. Data may be obfuscated or anonymized for preprocessing via a double-encrypted intersection-based extraction mechanism, allowing both measurement systems and panel providers to retain confidential information.

  • Patent number: 10607254
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for attribution modeling using withheld or near impression data are provided. One method involves determining, for a first content item impression, withheld or near impressions for a competing content item within a content auction. The method further involves identifying a first set of paths including a sequence of events that includes an interaction with the first content item impression. The method further involves identifying a second set of paths, each including the sequence of events with the competing content item impression replacing the first content item impression. The method compares conversion metrics for the first and second paths to determine attribution credit for the first content item impression.

  • Patent number: 10282357
Abstract: Methods and systems of reducing computer resource utilization to update rankings based on dynamically generated content are described. The method includes identifying a ranking of content experience types of a list of content experience types. Each content experience type including parameters to generate content experience documents. The method also includes updating the ranking of content experience types. The updating includes iteratively selecting content experience types from the ranking of content experience types to generate an update subset of the ranking of content experience types, generating, for a client device, a feedback request document including a plurality of content experience documents, and receiving feedback information related to the plurality of content experience documents included in the feedback request document to update the ranking of the content experience types included in the update subset.

  • Patent number: 8576867
Abstract: A pipeline scheduler provides a minimum bandwidth guarantee by transporting cells from an input port to an output port in a two-phased approach. Cells that conform to a minimum cell rate (MCR) are selected from queues at the input port and arranged into supercells for transport to the output port, followed by nonconforming cells, to guarantee fairness by using scheduling modules to build the supercells first for conforming cells, and then for nonconforming cells. Reservation vectors are used to permit the same time slot of the next frame to be reserved by a first queue, and the same time slot of the following time frame to be held for reservation by a second queue, to ensure equal time slot access by the first and second queues over successive time frames.

  • Patent number: 7340175
Abstract: Hierarchical hybrid optical networking is based on balancing cost and performance of optical networks by providing transparent (optical) switching of subsets of wavelengths in addition to opaque (electrical) switching of individual light paths. Effective use of wavelength-subset switching requires aggregating and deaggregating wavelength subsets in a simple, cost-effective manner. Non-uniform wavebands are introduced and analyzed their performance advantage as compared with uniform wavebands. Also proposed are several architectural options for a hierarchical hybrid optical cross-connect system that combines non-uniform wavebands and improved utilization of OEO ports.

  • Patent number: 6618379
Abstract: A novel protocol for scheduling of packets in high-speed cell based switches is provided. The switch is assumed to use a logical cross-bar fabric with input buffers. The scheduler may be used in optical as well as electronic switches with terabit capacity. The proposed round-robin greedy scheduling (RRGS) achieves optimal scheduling at terabit throughput, using a pipeline technique. The pipeline approach avoids the need for internal speedup of the switching fabric to achieve high utilization.

  • Patent number: 6408005
Abstract: A Dynamic Rate Control (DRC) scheduler for scheduling cells for service in a generic Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) switch is disclosed. According to the inventive DRC, each traffic stream associated with an internal switch queue is rate-shaped according to a rate which consists of a minimum guaranteed rate and a dynamic component computed based on congestion information within the switch. While achieving high utilization, DRC guarantees a minimum throughput for each stream and fairly distributes unused bandwidth. The distribution of unused bandwidth in DRC can be assigned flexibly, i.e., the unused bandwidth need not be shared in proportion to the minimum throughput guarantees, as in weighted fair share schedulers. Moreover, an effective closed-loop QoS control can be built into DRC by dynamically updating a set of weights based on observed QoS. Another salient feature of DRC is its ability to control congestion internal congestion at bottleneck points within a multistage switch.

  • Patent number: 6389019
Abstract: A flexible and scalable architecture and method that implements dynamic rate control scheduling in an ATM switch. The scheduler shapes a large number of streams according to rate values computed dynamically based on switch congestion information. To handle a large range of bit rates, a plurality of timewheels are employed with different time granularities. The streams are assigned dynamically to the timewheels based on computed rate values. The shaper architecture and method support priority levels for arbitrating among streams which are simultaneously eligible to transmit.
