Publication number: 20260246502Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In wireless communications systems, a network entity may transmit channel state information (CSI) reference signals (CSI-RSs) to a user equipment (UE). The UE may perform measurements on the CSI-RS and generate a CSI report based on the CSI-RSs. The UE may transmit the CSI report to the network entity such that the network entity may identify suitable configurations for communication with the UE. Type I and Enhanced Type II CSI report codebooks may be extended to CSI-RSs transmitted using more than thirty-two ports. To account for the increase in the quantity of ports and the associated narrowing of CSI-RS beams, codebook parameters used to generate the CSI report at a UE may be adjusted.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 15, 2023Publication date: August 20, 2026Inventors: Kexin XIAO, Yi HUANG, Hyojin LEE, Yu ZHANG, Runxin WANG

Patent number: 12712603Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a user equipment (UE) may communicate on first and second carriers, and may support either two transmit chains or three transmit chains on a second carrier. A base station may configure different sounding reference signal (SRS) resources for different numbers of transmit chains. SRS resources configured with two ports may indicate two transmit chains, and SRS resource configured with three ports may indicate three transmit chains. The base station may indicate an index associated with an SRS resource, and the UE may select (e.g., based on a mapping between the SRS resource index and a number of SRS ports and a number of transmit chains), a corresponding SRS resource, number of ports, number of transmit chains, or any combination thereof. The base station may indicate a number of transmit chains for a given SRS resource based on a PMI index.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2021Date of Patent: August 18, 2026Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Kexin Xiao, Hyojin Lee, Yu Zhang, Yi Huang, Muhammad Sayed Khairy Abdelghaffar, Runxin Wang, Krishna Kiran Mukkavilli

Patent number: 12706650Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to transmission of a single CSI report that includes time domain channel information obtained from a plurality of CSI-RSs received by a UE over time. For example, each of the CSI-RSs may be associated with a different respective time resource (e.g., each CSI-RS is received at a different respective time). The UE may obtain a plurality of CSI values based on the plurality of CSI-RSs and generate the time domain channel information from the plurality of CSI values. In some examples, the time domain channel information includes the plurality of CSI values. In other examples, the time domain channel information includes compressed channel information based on the plurality of CSI values. A base station may then utilize the time domain channel information included in the CSI report for scheduling downlink data transmissions to the UE.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2021Date of Patent: August 11, 2026Assignee: Qualcomm IncorporatedInventors: Runxin Wang, Yu Zhang, Muhammad Sayed Khairy Abdelghaffar, Hwan Joon Kwon

Patent number: 12701576Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support mechanisms for base station-assisted UE antenna port selection. A user equipment (UE) transmits, to a base station, a sounding reference signal (SRS) switching capability report (e.g., a xTyR report) indicating to the base station a number of receive antenna ports configured for the UE. (e.g., capability to transmit on x antenna ports and reception over a total of y antenna ports). The UE transmits an SRS to the base station sounding the y antenna ports. The base station selects and indicates y? antenna ports out of the y antenna ports for the UE to receive a subsequent downlink data transmission based on a channel estimation based on the SRS transmission, or based on channel state feedback (CSF). In aspects, the UE provides a recommendation of y?, and the base station may determine y? based on the UE's recommendation.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2021Date of Patent: August 4, 2026Assignee: QUALCOM IncorporatedInventors: Runxin Wang, Yu Zhang, Muhammad Sayed Khairy Abdelghaffar, Jing Jiang
