  • Publication number: 20230350427
Abstract: Systems, computer readable medium and methods for landing an autonomous drone with gestures are disclosed. Example methods include lifting off the autonomous drone in response to an instruction from a person, receiving sensor data, and processing the sensor data to identify a gesture from the person that indicates that the autonomous drone is to land. The autonomous drone recognizes a gesture from a person to land where the gesture is based on a physical movement of the person. In response, the autonomous drone navigates to land the autonomous drone. In some examples, the person presents an open palm to the autonomous drone which causes the autonomous drone to fly to and land on the open palm. In some examples, the person places a hand under the autonomous drone which causes the autonomous drone to land. In some examples, the autonomous drone responds to the person that launched the autonomous drone.

  • Publication number: 20230351899
Abstract: Systems, computer readable medium and methods for navigation correction for excessive wind in an autonomous drone are disclosed. Excessive winds can be a particular problem for small autonomous drones as safety and retrieval of the autonomous drones is important and the autonomous drones often have limited thrust and batteries. Autonomous drones are disclosed that detect and correct flight plans when excessive winds are detected. The autonomous drone determines based on the severity of the excessive winds whether to return to a home position which is typically a position of a user of the autonomous drone or to land in place. If the excessive winds subside, then the autonomous drone returns to its original flight plan at the point where the autonomous drone was blown off course by the excessive winds. The autonomous drone detects excessive winds either directly by sensor data or inferentially by unanticipated movement of the autonomous drone.

  • Patent number: 11803058
Abstract: Eyewear with camera-based compensation that improves the user experience of eyewear devices for user's having partial blindness or complete blindness. To compensate for blindness, the camera-based compensation uses eyewear cameras to communicate a video feed, and a microphone to provide an optional audio feed, to a remote operator of a remote device to responsively assist the user to complete a task. For example, the user may want audio advice on how to navigate a crowded scene or unknown obstacle. The camera-based compensation is configured to receive instructions from the remote operator to navigate, such as by receiving audio instructions.

  • Patent number: 11785336
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining a location of a wearable electronic device are disclosed. In some aspects, the device includes a position acquisition device and an accelerometer. A hardware processor included in the device may be configured to generally maintain the position acquisition device in a low power state to save power. When a video or image is captured, it may tag the video or image with first location information. Given the inoperative position acquisition device, a current location may not be known. In some aspects, in response to a need for location information, measurements from an accelerometer may be stored. The position acquisition device may also be transitioned to an operative state, and after some time delay, a second location determined. In some aspects, the location of the capture may then be obtained based on the acceleration measurements and the second location.

  • Publication number: 20230293061
Abstract: An eyewear device, method for use with an eyewear device, and a non-transient computer readable medium for detecting blood sugar levels are disclosed. The eyewear device has a frame including a first rim configured to support a first lens, a second rim configured to support a second lens, and a bridge connecting the first rim to the second rim. The bridge is configured to receive a nose of a user when the eyewear device is worn by the user. Blood sugar levels are detected by monitoring behavior of a pupil of an eye of the user with a sensor, comparing the monitored behavior with known blood sugar level behaviors, identifying a match responsive to the comparison between the monitored behavior and one of the known blood sugar level behaviors corresponding to a particular blood sugar level, and selecting the particular blood sugar level as a blood sugar level of the user.

  • Publication number: 20230284142
Abstract: Systems and methods for device handshaking are described. Embodiments for client device and associated wearable device initiated handshaking are described. In certain embodiments, a device such as wearable camera eyeglasses having both high-speed wireless circuitry and low-power wireless circuitry communicates with a client device. The low-power wireless circuitry is used for signaling and to manage power on handshaking for the high-speed circuitry in order to reduce power consumption. An analysis of a high-speed connection status may be performed by a client device, and used to conserve power at the glasses with signaling from the client device to indicate when the high-speed circuitry of the glasses should be powered on.

  • Publication number: 20230224570
Abstract: System, methods, devices, and instructions are described for fast boot of a processor as part of camera operation. In some embodiments, in response to a camera input, a digital signal processor (DSP) of a device is booted using a first set of instructions. Capture of image sensor data is initiated using the first set of instructions at the DSP. The DSP then receives a second set of instructions and the DSP is programmed using the second set of instructions after at least a first frame of the image sensor data is stored in a memory of the device. The first frame of the image sensor data is processed using the DSP as programmed by the second set of instructions. In some embodiments, the first set of instructions includes only instructions for setting camera sensor values, and the second set of instructions includes instructions for processing raw sensor data into formatted image files.
