A method of processing colloquialisms in message text can include detecting a colloquialism in message text, locating a universal form for the detected colloquialism, and transmitting the message text with the universal form to a designated message recipient. The transmitting step can include replacing the colloquialism with the universal form, and transmitting the message text with the universal form to a designated message recipient. Alternatively, the transmitting step can include supplementing the colloquialism with the universal form, and transmitting the message text with the universal form to a designated message recipient.

Abstract: A system and method for managing an electronic storage volume is described. The method includes assigning a threshold to a constrained storage space to define a first state in which an amount of data stored in the constrained storage space exceeds the threshold and a second state in which the amount of data stored in the confined storage space does not exceed the threshold. The method also includes comparing the amount of data to be stored in the constrained storage space and the threshold, and performing a predefined action if the comparison indicates that the amount data to be in the confined storage space would cause a transition between the first state and the second state.

Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for presence sensing security. A presence sensing security method can include the step of securing access to only a portion of a computing device based upon the presence of at least one of an authorized user and an unauthorized user. The securing step can include securing content of selected applications of the computing device based upon the presence of at least one of an authorized user and an unauthorized user. Additionally, the securing step can include securing access to selected files in the computing device based upon the presence of at least one of an authorized user and an unauthorized user.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer instructions for the queuing of location-based task-oriented content. A content service provider receives content for a location-dependent task to be delivered to a particular client computing device. The content service provider determines if the content is above a threshold associated with the location-dependent task. Responsive to a determination that the content is above the threshold, rerouting the content to a storage repository associated with another location-dependent task, wherein a user may address the content at a later time.

Abstract: A computer system includes a plurality of LEDs situated in correspondence to a plurality of connectors. System peripherals which connect to the plurality of connectors are outfitted to include a transponder having a unique RF ID tag The system further includes an RFID reader which detects an RF ID tag emitted by a proximate transponder when a user proceeds to plug-in a system peripheral outfitted with such transponder. The system further includes a light controller which selectively energizes the LEDs and provides a distinguishing energization signal to at least one but less than all of the LEDs based on the RF ID value. Preferably, the system processor oversees the selection.

A user state and a user location of the first instant messaging user are displayed on the user interface of the second instant messaging user in response to a selection of the displayed graphical feature by the second instant messaging user. One or more alternative communication methods for communicating with the first instant messaging user are displayed on the user interface of the second instant messaging user in accordance with a communication policy defined by the first instant messaging user.

Abstract: Described is a method for indicating a communication availability of a first instant messaging user to a second instant messaging user. An icon is displayed on a user interface of the second instant messaging user to indicate at least one of a user state and a user location of the first instant messaging user. A graphical parameter of the displayed icon is set to one of a plurality of states in response to the communication availability of the first instant messaging user. The communication availability is determined according to a communication policy dependent on the user state and the user location of the first instant messaging user.

Abstract: A system and method for providing user registry management of instant messages is disclosed. The system allows recipients to set filter criteria for filtering instant messages, the filter criteria being selected from a database of characteristics, or registry, for senders of the instant messages. When an instant message is received, the system determines the characteristics of the sender. The system blocks display of the received instant message if the filter criteria are met by the characteristics of the sender.

Abstract: An apparatus, a system, and a process for exchanging vehicle identification information subsequent to a collision are provided. The apparatus, system, and process include a host identification device connected to a vehicle data system of a host vehicle. At the time of collision the vehicle data system sends the host identification device a collision indication. Responsive to the collision indication, the host identification device establishes a wireless network connection with one or more responding identification devices. The host identification device further assemblies a vehicle identifier. The vehicle identifier may be based on a unique vehicle identification number provided by the vehicle data system. The host identification device exchanges vehicle identifiers with one or more responding identification devices. In addition, the host identification device may store one or more vehicle identifiers.

Abstract: A process, system, and apparatus are disclosed for mitigating access point data rate degradation with respect to a wireless communication between a wireless access point and a wireless client device. A channel assessment module is configured to assess the wireless communications, including interference signals, present on available wireless communications channels. The channel assessment module may establish quality parameters that at least partially describe the wireless communications quality of a given channel. A channel selection module is configured to select a best wireless communications channel based on the communications channel assessment. A channel connection module is configured to facilitate wireless communication between the wireless access point and the wireless client device on the best wireless communications channel.

The ventilation interface includes a plurality of vent openings and a mechanical controller substantially adjacent to the plurality of vent openings to adjust closure of the plurality of vent openings.
