  • Patent number: 11302153
Abstract: A gaming machine includes a plurality of reels associated with the game of chance. Each of the plurality of reels includes a plurality of reel positions to generate a symbol thereon. The gaming machine also includes a display including a defined plurality of positions to present a symbol thereon. The gaming machine also includes a processor programmed to generate a spin of the plurality of reels. The spin results in a play area including one or more symbols generated from each of the plurality of reels. The processor is also programmed to identify a first unfolding symbol in a first position on the play area, determine a second position on the play area adjacent to the first position, and display a second unfolding symbol in the second position on based at least in part on the determining, thereby unfolding the first unfolding symbol.

  • Publication number: 20210236914
Abstract: A gaming machine receives a first play input at a first gaming machine, determines a first quantity of play areas based on a first wager, generates at least one first play area based on the determined first quantity, and determines whether the at least one first play area satisfies a predetermined first threshold. At least a portion of the first wager associated with the first play input is allocated to a progressive jackpot. At least a first portion of the progressive jackpot is allocated to the first gaming machine when the at least one first play area satisfies the predetermined first threshold.

  • Publication number: 20210183209
Abstract: An electronic gaming machine may include a plurality of mechanical reels, each of which may include a plurality of symbols. The electronic gaming machine may also include a processor configured execute instructions stored on a memory. When the processor executes the instructions, the processor may control a first mechanical reel of the plurality of mechanical reels to spin and stop on a first stop position relative to a centerline, such that the first mechanical reel displays a first plurality of active symbols. In addition, the processor may execute the instructions to control a second mechanical reel of the plurality of mechanical reels to spin and stop on a second stop position relative to the centerline. In at least one embodiment, the second stop position may be vertically offset from the first stop position, such that the second mechanical reel displays a second plurality of active symbols greater than the first plurality of active symbols displayed by the first mechanical reel.

  • Publication number: 20210027583
Abstract: A gaming machine determines a base outcome and initiates a bonus display sequence including a plurality of bonus outcomes. Prior to displaying any of the bonus outcomes, the machine determines a quantity of free spins and an outcome for each free spin, including an outcome amount, and at least one additional free play outcome including a corresponding outcome amount. The machine identifies i) a plurality of winning outcomes and ii) a plurality of non-winning outcomes and sorts, in ascending order based on the outcome amount, the plurality of winning outcomes in a table stored in memory. The machine displays the winning outcomes in order retrieved from the table, and displays the at least one additional free play outcome when the corresponding outcome amount is equal to or greater than the respective free play outcome of the plurality of winning outcomes.

  • Publication number: 20200402346
Abstract: A gaming machine is programmed to initiate a spin and determine that a first occurrence of a splitting symbol is displayed at a first symbol position on a first reel of the plurality of reels, determine to activate a splitting symbol feature during the spin based at least in part on an output of a random number generator, replace the splitting symbol on the first reel with an activated splitting symbol, activate the splitting symbol feature as one of a first splitting symbol feature and a second splitting symbol feature, the activating includes inserting an additional symbol into one or more symbol positions such that the first symbol position includes only the first occurrence of the splitting symbol, and such that each of the one or more symbol positions includes one of the one or more second occurrences of the splitting symbol and the additional symbol.

  • Patent number: 10769890
Abstract: A gaming machine for providing a game of chance operable upon a wager by a player includes a plurality of reels associated with the game of chance. Each of the plurality of reels includes a plurality of reel positions to generate a symbol thereon. The gaming machine also includes a display comprising a defined plurality of positions to present a symbol thereon for each of the plurality of reels. The gaming machine further includes a processor programmed to generate a spin of the plurality of reels, resulting in a play area. The processor is also programmed to identify a splitting symbol in a first position on the play area, thereby activating the splitting symbol. The processor is further programmed to determine a second position on the play area that includes a splitting symbol as a result of the spin, and to display an additional splitting symbol in the second position.
