Publication number: 20250069126Abstract: An online system identifies recipes that are most likely to be pertinent to particular users of the system. To do so, the online system uses an association table containing degrees of association between pairs of possible ingredients, identifying degrees of association between the constituent ingredients of various possible recipes and between ingredients from known user personalization data about the user to whom recipes are being recommended. These degrees of association are used to compute a score for each recipe as a whole, with the highest scores indicating the most pertinent recipes for the user in question. The most pertinent recipes, and/or the constituent ingredients of those recipes, are recommended to the user, and the system may additionally aid the user in obtaining the full complement of ingredients for a recommended recipe. The system may also build the association table as a co-occurrence graph of pairs of items that were previously purchased together by users of the system.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 21, 2023Publication date: February 27, 2025Inventors: Madeline Mesard, Kevin McCullough, Ryan Martin, Justin Park

Patent number: 12131204Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for latency mitigation during inter-process communication based on pre-allocating and managing shared memory. During the startup phase (e.g., prior to run-time), processes of vehicle computing systems may request to engage in communication with other processes within the vehicle computing system. Based on the request, a memory manager may determine an amount of shared memory to pre-allocate. In such examples, the amount of shared memory may be determined based on a maximum number of messages that may be “in-flight” at any single instance during run-time, and a maximum size of a message. The memory manager may pre-allocate shared memory consistent with the determined amount, and transmit a key to the requesting process. In such examples, the key may enable the process to access the pre-allocated shared memory. After the startup phase has ended, the process may read and/or write messages to and from the shared memory.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2022Date of Patent: October 29, 2024Assignee: Zoox, Inc.Inventors: Ryan Martin Cahoon, Ryder Rishel, Shao-Han Tang

Publication number: 20240320523Abstract: An online system performs an inference task in conjunction with the model serving system or the interface system to continuously monitor conversations between requesting users and fulfillment users to determine whether the online system can intervene to automatically respond to a message sent by a sending party, rather than prompting the receiving party for a manual reply. Upon inferring that a message can be automatically responded to, the online system automatically provides a response to the message without the receiving party's manual involvement. The online system can further be augmented to classify and reroute certain requesting user or fulfillment user queries that impact an order's end state by intercepting the conversation on behalf of either party and performing one or more automated actions. If the message is action-oriented, the online system may perform one or more automated actions in response to the message.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2024Publication date: September 26, 2024Inventors: Ryan McColeman, Ryan Martin, Brent Scheibelhut, Shaun Navin Maharaj, Mark Oberemk

Patent number: 11892847Abstract: A domain specific language for use in constructing simulations within real environments is described. In an example, a computing device associated with a vehicle can receive, from one or more sensors associated with the vehicle, sensor data associated with an environment within which the vehicle is positioned. In an example, the vehicle can be an autonomous vehicle. The computing device associated with the vehicle can receive simulated data associated with one or more primitives that are to be instantiated as a scenario in the environment. The computing device can merge the sensor data and the simulated data to generate aggregated data and determine a trajectory along which the vehicle is to drive based at least in part on the aggregated data. The computing device can determine instructions for executing the trajectory and can assess the performance of the vehicle based on how the vehicle responds to the scenario.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2020Date of Patent: February 6, 2024Assignee: Zoox, Inc.Inventors: Jacob Lee Askeland, Ryan Martin Cahoon, Gary Linscott
