  • Patent number: 11322157
Abstract: A method of speaker authentication comprises: receiving a speech signal; dividing the speech signal into segments; and, following each segment, obtaining an authentication score based on said segment and previously received segments, wherein the authentication score represents a probability that the speech signal comes from a specific registered speaker. In response to an authentication request, an authentication result is output based on the authentication score.

  • Patent number: 10552595
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide methods and apparatus for monitoring the routing configuration within an electronic device such that a biometric authentication process can be carried out without interference from other components of the device, such as may occur when the device has become infected with malware for example. The invention may provide a codec or speaker recognition processor, coupled to receive biometric input data, comprising a security module that determines whether a routing configuration complies with one or more rules. The security module may be implemented to prevent genuine biometric data from being output from the speaker recognition processor, and/or to prevent spoof biometric data from being inserted into the authentication module.

  • Publication number: 20190122670
Abstract: One aspect provides a method in an audio data transmission module. The method comprises: obtaining an audio data stream comprising speech from a user to be authenticated, the audio data stream comprising a plurality of data segments; obtaining a voice biometric authentication result relating to the speech in one or more first data segments of the audio data stream; generating data-authentication data for one or more second data segments of the audio data stream; generating one or more cryptographically signed packets comprising the voice biometric authentication result and the data-authentication data; and outputting the one or more cryptographically signed packets.

  • Publication number: 20180130475
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide methods and apparatus in which a biometric authentication score generated as the result of a biometric authentication algorithm is compared to a threshold value that can be dynamically varied as required to provide a variable level of security. For example, the threshold value may be varied in dependence on the semantic content of a voice signal, and/or the context in which the voice signal was acquired. Authentication of the signal may be initiated in parallel with speech recognition, such that the appropriate threshold value is only determined after authentication has already begun.

  • Publication number: 20170265778
Abstract: A spirometer that includes a sensor and a specifically designed flow chamber to create a pressure change and produce spirometry test results is disclosed. In one embodiment, the sensor comprises an absolute barometric pressure sensor. The spirometer of the present disclosure includes a single sensor positioned between the inlet of a flow chamber and a barrier to compute spirometry values with barometric pressure change. Pressure, humidity, and temperature are features that are built into the sensor. These sensor features and values assist in final computational spirometry test values as users complete test maneuvers.

  • Patent number: 9670650
Abstract: A fire hydrant water leak and theft detection system is connected to a dry barrel fire hydrant. The detector is connected to the upper barrel portion of the fire hydrant below the nozzle assembly and includes a pair of electrodes. A signal is generated when water in the upper barrel portion closes an electrical circuit between the two electrodes due to the conductivity of the water between the electrodes. The detection system sends a signal to a network system upon detection of water in the barrel portion and relays to remote monitoring locations.
