  • Patent number: 5125702
Abstract: A housing for a door lock device has an irregular outer perimeter with inside and outside curved corners. A sub housing for the door lock device has a similarly configured outer perimeter coupled to the perimeter of the housing. An O-ring is inserted in a groove in the housing perimeter for sealing the perimeters of the housing and sub-housing. The O-ring has a plurality of spaced gripping portions that have a width greater than the width of the groove before insertion therein for keeping the O-ring from springing out of the groove during assembly.

  • Patent number: 5106133
Abstract: A power actuator for a door lock device comprising an electric motor driving a worm gear, a gear wheel driven by the worm gear, a handling lever driven by an arcuate projection on the gear wheel and a locking arm rotated by the handling lever. The wheel gear has a peripheral groove with a portion of reduced width for supporting opposite ends of an elongate coil spring; which is compressed in a direction corresponding to the rotation of the gear wheel. An arcuate segment projects axially from the gear wheel. The opposite ends of the arcuate segment and the handling lever is shaped to provide point contact with the handling lever upon initial engagement and surface contact as the arcuate projection moves the handling lever to the locking and unlocking position. A contact is disposed on a base plate; and contacts on the handling lever slidably engage the contacts on the base plate to detect the locking and unlocking position of the handling lever.

  • Patent number: 5090081
Abstract: A windshield wiper includes a first pin connected to a drive mechanism, a primary lever supported by the first pin, a second pin mounted to the primary pin, a wiper arm fixedly mounted to the second pin, the primary lever being rotated about the second pin by the drive mechanism to cause reciprocating motion of the wiper arm in an arcuate path, a first cam member rotatable about the first pin, a second cam member rotatable about the second pin, and a secondary lever for connecting the first cam member and the second cam member together. The second cam member is so rotated as to allow a center of the first cam member to move relative to a center of the first pin, thereby changing the effective length of the primary lever such that the arcuate path of the wiper arm is changed. A wheel gear is used to rotate the second cam member through a predetermined angle. The second cam member is rotatably supported by a stationary member. A gear portion is meshed with the wheel gear and rotated by the motor.

  • Patent number: 5056182
Abstract: A vehicle windshield wiper structure has a wiper arm connected to a wiper head and supports a wiper blade which is adapted to be forced onto the surface of the windshield glass. A spring is provided to force the wiper blade into engagement with the windshield glass surface. The spring is engaged at one end with an intermediate portion of the wiper arm and at the other end with an end of a swingable lever which is pivotably mounted on the wiper head. The other end of the swingable lever is provided with a cam follower roller which is adapted to be engaged under a resilient force applied by the spring with a cam provided on a stationary part of the vehicle. The cam has a profile which is slanted at the opposite end portions so that the resilient force depressing the wiper blade into engagement with the windshield glass surface is decreased at each end of the stroke of movement of the wiper to thereby decrease the noise which may otherwise be produced when the wiper movement is inverted.

  • Patent number: 5052731
Abstract: A child protecting mechanism in a door lock apparatus includes a base internally accommodating an opening/closing mechanism, an opening lever pivotally supported on the base for actuating the opening/closing mechanism, an inside lever and a child protecting lever pivotally supported on the base, and an opening lift lever having one end connected to the inside lever and another end connected to the child protecting lever and capable of being engaged with and disengaged from the opening lever. Turning the child protecting lever causes the opening lift lever to rock to disengage the opening lever and the opening lift lever, thereby preventing the turning motion of the inside lever from being transmitted to the opening lever.

  • Patent number: 5035453
Abstract: In a door-locking device, an output lever is connected to a release member and other operating mechanisms in order to eliminate a locking lever and a locking link. The elimination of these members decreases the number of connecting portions between members or mechanisms, thereby decreasing loose fittings therebetween. Thus, the generation of noise is lowered resulting in the realization of quietude. Also, the sense of operation of the door-locking device is more comfortable due to the decreased feeling of looseness.

  • Patent number: 5020838
Abstract: A luggage-door lock device includes a latch having a pawl engaged with a striker secured to a body and a spring urging the pawl towards the striker. The engagement is assured by the engagement between the latch and a swing member, by removing the swing member from the latch as a result of a motor-operated mechanism, so that the pawl is removed from the striker. Due to the reaction of the spring after resulting removal, a lid to which the latch is secured is moved in an opening direction.

  • Patent number: 5002322
Abstract: A lid locking device for a vehicle has a pawl attached to the lid and engaged by a retractable plunger. The plunger is retracted by contacting a projection of a rotatable worm-wheel to permit opening of the lid. The worm-wheel is rotated into position by a worm gear mounted on a rotating shaft. The worm-wheel and plunger are returned to their original positions by the release of energy stored in springs during the retraction of the plunger.

  • Patent number: 4926332
Abstract: A locking device for vehicles includes a card including a microprocessor and a transmitter for generating and transmitting commands for locking and unlocking the doors of a motor vehicle. A lock control device includes a microprocessor and a receiver for receiving the commands transmitted by the lock command device. The lock control device will only carry out a receive command if the command is applied to a specific motor vehicle and the motor vehicle is in the proper state to implement the command. Change data is generated by the lock control device and transmitted to the lock command device to change the value of the next subsequent lock command so that the lock command can be uniquely identified with the motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4905532
Abstract: A power transmitting apparatus is comprised of an electrically operated motor having a shaft which is rotatable in one or the other direction, a worm-gear provided at an outer periphery thereof with a geared portion at which an angle of load is established at a set value so as to be larger than an angle of friction and fixedly mounted on the shaft of the motor, a worm-wheel provided at an outer periphery thereof with a geared portion which is in mesh engagement with the geared portion of the worm-gear, and a lever operatively connected to the worm-wheel for transmitting the rotational torque therefrom to a driven member. Since an angle of load is set so as to be larger than an angle of friction in the worm-gear, the rotational torque may be transmitted between the worm-gear and the worm-wheel. So, flexibility in mechanical design is increased.

  • Patent number: 4796151
Abstract: An ignition system for vehicle includes switching means which is turned on in response to a given code input. The switching means may be connected in a supply line which provides a connection between a primary coil of an ignition circuit and a storage battery mounted on a vehicle, in a ground line which provides a connection between the primary coil and the electrical ground of a vehicle, or in an energization control line which provides a connection between the base of a switching transistor, acting to pass or interrupt the primary current flow, and its associated base driver, each line being disposed in an ignition circuit. The code may be entered through numerical keys, a combination of a key code emitter and a key code receiver, or a combination of a key card and a card reader. The ignition circuit is completed by allowing the switching means to be turned on only when a code entered matches a specific code which is previously stored.
