  • Patent number: 6517178
Abstract: An image forming method and apparatus for ejecting a ink liquid fluid constituted by plural inks from a common ink ejection port while changing a mixture proportion of the plural inks with respect to one pixel based on an image signal. The ejected fluid is transported to an image receiving medium which is moved relatively to the ink ejection port to form an image. A flow rate of at least one image forming ink of the plural inks is controlled so as not to be always zero. The image quality is prevented from being deteriorated by undesired mixing of inks due to natural diffusion of the image forming ink into other inks. A minimum addition amount of the image forming ink can be equal to or above a flow rate required for refreshing a volume of the image forming ink mixed with any other ink by natural diffusion.

  • Patent number: 6517181
Abstract: There is disclosed an image forming method for mixing a plurality of recording liquids to produce a mixed liquid with a desired density and/or color and transporting the mixed liquid to an image receiving medium to form an image. The actual value of the mixture proportion of the mixed liquid is constantly monitored in the vicinity of the confluent point of the recording liquids (in the vicinity of the downstream side of the confluent point or on the upstream side), and is compared with the target value of the mixture proportion obtained based on the image signal. The supply amount of each recording liquid is subjected to feedback control in such a manner that the detected actual value agrees with the target value. The mixture proportion is prevented from fluctuating by influences of a recording liquid temperature, an atmospheric pressure, and the like and an image quality is enhanced.

  • Patent number: 6467893
Abstract: An image forming method and apparatus for forming an image on an image receiving medium with plural coating liquids. A plurality of types of coating liquid are combined to form a recording liquid and extruded as a continuous flow from an array of plural extruding ports which are aligned in a direction substantially orthogonal to a relative movement direction of the image receiving medium. While a mixing ratio of the plural coating liquids is varied based on an image signal, the recording liquid is continuously applied on the image receiving medium to form the image thereon. The high-speed image formation is enabled with a reduced amount of ink to be wasted. Preferably, the plurality of types of the coating liquid are not equally mixed but can be superimposed in the form of a layer in the coating thickness direction to be continuously applied.

  • Patent number: 6341063
Abstract: A casing of an ECU is formed within an air cleaner of an intake module for an internal combustion engine. The casing faces an intake air passage, and formed in a pocket, so that the casing is easily formed and the water and dust proof performances thereof are improved. A printed-circuit board to which a metal plate is fixed is inserted into the casing along slits formed on an inner wall of the casing. The slits pinch the printed-circuit board and the metal plate at the rear end area thereof. Thus, anti-stress and anti-vibration performances of the printed-circuit board are improved. The metal plate including convexes and concaved contacting portions is easily formed by pressing an aluminum or steel plate. Thus, the metal plate is formed with low cost. Further, the metal plate appropriately includes holes, thereby promoting the heat radiation and reducing the weight thereof.

  • Patent number: 6299286
Abstract: A recording liquid which is obtained by changing a proportion of mixture of image forming liquid and clear liquid based on an image signal is transported as a continuous flow to an image receiving medium to form an image. An undercoating liquid is superimposed on the recording liquid at the position where the recording liquid meets the image receiving medium to form a bead so that the recording liquid is loaded on the undercoating liquid. The stream line of the undercoating liquid is bent toward the upstream side in the bead and then turned back toward the downstream side to be straightened. Accordingly, the recording liquid superimposed on the straightened undercoating liquid becomes a stable straightened flow without a sinuosity. The generation of a sinuosity of a stream line of the recording liquid is prevented to improve the image quality. Preferably, a supply amount of the undercoating liquid is set constant.

  • Patent number: 6057955
Abstract: An optical modulation element is constructed of an electro-optic crystal substrate, which includes individual electrodes arrayed and formed one-dimensionally on one surface of the substrate and also includes a common electrode formed on the other surface in opposition to the plurality of individual electrodes. The portion of the electrode-optic crystal substrate, interposed between the common electrode and each the individual electrode, constitutes an aperture portion. The aperture portion is switched between a light-transmitting state and a light cut-off state by controlling voltage between the opposite electrodes. Light incident on the aperture portion in a direction perpendicular to the arrayed direction of the individual electrodes from one surface of the electro-optic crystal substrate is modulated.

  • Patent number: 5999246
Abstract: A color image is recorded on a color photosensitive material by using a spatial light modulator, which comprises a photoconductive layer and an electro-optic material layer located with an insulating multi-layer film mirror intervening therebetween. An optical pattern is inputted from the side of the photoconductive layer and written into the spatial light modulator. Reading light is irradiated from the side of the electro-optic material layer and reflected from the multi-layer film mirror, and the written optical pattern is thereby read from the spatial light modulator.

  • Patent number: 5990272
Abstract: A method of treating polyolefin comprises (i) a ligand-decomposition step of contacting polyolefin, which is obtained by the use of a transition metal compound containing ligands having cyclopentadienyl skeleton, with a ligand decomposer, such as water, oxygen, alcohol, alkylene oxide or peroxide, to decompose the ligands contained in the polyolefin, and (ii) a ligand-removal step of heating the polyolefin contacted with the ligand decomposer to remove the decomposed ligands from the polyolefin. According to this method, the residual ligands having cyclopentadienyl skeleton, which are contained in the polyolefin produced by the use of a transition metal compound containing ligands having cyclopentadienyl skeleton, are decomposed and removed from the polyolefin, whereby polyolefin diminished in odor development in the molding process can be obtained.
