  • Patent number: 4854561
Abstract: A fluid filled elastic bushing, including a tubular inner sleeve to which a shaft member is fixed, and a tubular outer sleeve which is secured to a support structure and which is disposed radially outwardly of the inner sleeve so as to form an annular space between the outer and inner circumferential surfaces of the inner and outer sleeves, and to form a cylindrical space between opposed bottom walls at the closed ends of the two sleeves. The bushing further includes a cylindrical elastic connecting member which fluid tightly fills a portion of the annular space adjacent to the open ends of the two sleeves, and thereby cooperates with the sleeves to define a fluid chamber which includes a remaining portion of the annular space and the cylindrical space and which is filled with the fluid.

  • Patent number: 4786036
Abstract: A fluid-filled resilient bushing including a generally annular resilient member interposed between inner and outer sleeves and having a generally annular recess open in the outer circumferential surface of an axially intermediate portion thereof. The outer sleeve fluid-tightly closes the annular recess, and thereby cooperates with the resilient member to define a generally annular fluid chamber filled with a viscous fluid. The bushing has portions for defining a pair of shearing gaps as two opposite portions of the annular fluid chamber which are opposite to each other diametrically of the inner sleeve, in a first diametric direction perpendicular to a second direction in which the bushing receives a vibrational load.

  • Patent number: 4756514
Abstract: A fluid-filled resilient bushing including an inner sleeve, an outer sleeve with a plurality of apertures, a sealing sleeve fitted on the outer sleeve, so as to fluid-tightly close the apertures, and an annular resilient member interposed between the inner and outer sleeves so as to resiliently connect the inner and outer sleeves. The resilient member has a plurality of pockets alinged with the apertures. The bushing further includes a plurality of arcuate partition walls disposed in the pockets, respectively, and a plurality of orifice members. Each partition wall is formed as integral parts of the resilient member, so as to divide a radially inner portion of the corresponding pocket into two parts which are spaced apart from each other in an axial direction of the bushing.

  • Patent number: 4749173
Abstract: A fluid-filled resilient bushing including a resilient member interposed between inner and outer sleeves, and an elastically yieldable partition member. The resilient member and the partition member cooperate with a sealing sleeve to define a pressure-receiving chamber and an equilibrium chamber, which are disposed opposite to each other in a first direction in which the bushing receives a vibrational load. The chambers communicate with each other through an orifice. The bushing includes a stopper block which has a stopper portion disposed within the pressure-receiving chamber, so as to extend in the radial direction. The stopper portion has a radial end face whose periphery is spaced apart from the periphery of the pressure-receiving chamber. A damping member is fixedly provided on the radial end face of the stopper portion.

  • Patent number: 4749174
Abstract: A fluid-filled resilient bushing including an annular resilient member interposed between inner and outer sleeves, and a stopper block having a pair of stopper portions disposed in respective fluid chambers defined by the outer sleeve and the resilient member. The chambers are located opposite to each other in a first direction in which the bushing receives vibrations. The two chambers, filled with an incompressible fluid, communicate with each other through an orifice. The stopper portions extend from the inner sleeve toward the outer sleeve. Each stopper portion has a radial end face having an edge which is spaced apart from a periphery of the corresponding fluid chamber in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, so as to define an annular spacing. A damping member is provided on the radial end face of at least one of the stopper portions.

  • Patent number: 4739979
Abstract: A fluid-filled resilient support structure including a first annular resilient member disposed radially outwardly of an inner sleeve, a pair of annular closure members closing opposite ends of an annular space between the inner sleeve and the first resilient member, a cylindrical member fitted on an intermediate portion of the inner sleeve, an orifice member spaced radially outwardly from the cylindrical member, a second annular resilient member between the orifice member and the cylindrical member, and an outer sleeve fitted on the outer surface of the orifice member. The orifice member has a radially outer portion sandwiched between upper and lower portions of the first resilient member in the axial direction. The orifice and cylindrical members and the second resilient member axially divide the annular space into two fluid chambers which are closed at the opposite axial ends of the first resilient member by the closure members. The orifice member has a circumferential groove formed in its outer surface.

  • Patent number: 4693456
Abstract: A fluid-filled resilient bushing including an inner sleeve, a rubber insert secured to the outer surface of the inner sleeve, an orifice sleeve fitted on the rubber insert, and an outer sleeve fitted on the orifice sleeve. The rubber insert has a plurality of circumferentially spaced-apart pockets which are closed by the orifice sleeve, whereby a plurality of fluid chambers are formed. The orifice sleeve has a circumferential groove formed continuously in its outer surface so as to cover at least one full circumference of the orifice sleeve, and a plurality of radial holes which communicate at their outer ends with the circumferential groove and at their inner ends with the fluid chambers, respectively. The outer sleeve closes the circumferential groove in the orifice sleeve, so as to define a continuous circumferential orifice which communicates with the fluid chambers through the radial holes in the orifice sleeve.
