  • Patent number: 9057999
Abstract: An image forming apparatus (multifunction peripheral) includes an input portion and a job execution portion. The input portion includes an operation portion configured to accept user's setting input and stop of a job, and a communication portion, so as to accept a content confirmation input of a job to be executed. When executing a job for which the content confirmation input is not accepted, the job execution portion executes the job at lower speed for a predetermined number of sheets from first than a job for which the content confirmation input is accepted, and executes the job at the same speed after the predetermined number of sheets as the job for which the content confirmation input is accepted.

  • Publication number: 20150156367
Abstract: An image forming system includes a plurality of image forming apparatuses and a group management server. The plurality of image forming apparatuses each include a document-box management unit. The document-box movement processing unit transmits a command to at least one of a first image forming apparatus assigned to a group before the movement and a second image forming apparatus assigned to a group after the movement, the command causing movement of a document box of the moved user from the first image forming apparatus to the second image forming apparatus. The document-box management unit in at least one of the first image forming apparatus and the second image forming apparatus accepts the command. The document-box management unit forwards the document box of the moved user from the first image forming apparatus to the second image forming apparatus.

  • Patent number: 8913266
Abstract: An image forming apparatus has a printing section and a document reading section. The printing section prints on paper while transporting it. The document reading section includes a document transport portion which automatically transports, sheet by sheet, a document placed thereon. The document reading section generates image data by reading the document. The document reading section is operable in an ordinary reading mode in which it reads the document at a previously determined ordinary speed and in a quiet reading mode in which it reads the document at a quiet speed lower than the ordinary speed. The document reading section reads the document in the quiet reading mode when the printing section is not printing and in the ordinary reading mode when the printing section is printing.

  • Publication number: 20140320904
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a job execution portion, an operation portion, and a storage portion. The job execution portion executes a job. The operation portion receives an operation of selecting a setting item used in a job to be executed, an operation of setting a setting value of a job to be executed, and an execution instruction for a job. The storage portion stores a content of a specific operation of making the operation portion into a state where a plurality of touch operations have been performed by one touch operation. The job execution portion makes a job execution speed different between a job for which the specific operation has been performed on the operation portion during setting operation, and a job set by only a normal operation without the specific operation during setting operation on the operation portion.

  • Publication number: 20130321866
Abstract: Provided is an image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus includes a box configured to store data, a usage amount count unit, a threshold value storage unit, a comparison unit, a box search unit, a user interface unit, and a box migration unit. The usage amount count unit counts a usage amount for a user identification. The threshold value storage unit stores a threshold value associated with the usage amount. The comparison unit determines whether or not the usage amount is equal to or larger than the threshold value. The box search unit acquires, based on the usage amount and threshold, box identification information on the box corresponding to the user identification within another image forming apparatus. The box migration unit migrates data on the box within the other image forming apparatus to the box corresponding to the user identification within the image forming apparatus.

  • Patent number: 8479144
Abstract: An SDK use-restriction imposing device includes a user interface unit, a source file of a use-restriction plug-in, a use-restriction plug-in edit unit, a build unit, and a use-restriction plug-in generation unit. The use-restriction plug-in edit unit sets use restrictions to the source file on the basis of use-restriction information received via the user interface unit. The build unit compiles the source file so as to generate an executable file of the use-restriction plug-in in response to a build instruction received via the user interface unit. The use-restriction plug-in generation unit generates a use-restriction-imposed SDK including an original SDK and the executable file of the use-restriction plug-in in response to an output instruction received via the user interface unit.

  • Publication number: 20090044205
Abstract: The present invention teaches and claims an electronic appliance for controlling a device via a controller comprises an application managing unit, a storing unit, a controller API and a secondary API. The application managing unit manages an application. The application is prepared with the use of an API, which operates the device to offer a service to a user, and is selected upon activation of the electronic appliance. The storing unit stores information about a correlation between the application and the API. The controller API is called by the application, and issues a request to the controller such that the controller operates the device. The secondary API has an interface so as not to be implemented in the controller API, and is called by the application on the basis of any correlation information, which consequently starts up the application with the use of the interface when version information of the API is newer than version information of the controller API.
